Templar Office, Signal, Vale, 10:00 am

Shay and Ruby were walking down the main hall of the Templar Office. It was cleaned up since the last visit of Jack the Ripper, and all the guards replaced with new faces.

Ruby: Why do you think the Grandmaster wants us?

Shay: Not us. Ever since he discovered we have a silver eyed member again, he kept planning our next move. I'm just here as your legal guardian.

Ruby: Oh come on. I can take care of myself, you trained me well.

Shay: You're still just sixteen Ruby. Trust me, you will look back on our times together as a pleasant memory one day.

Ruby: Maybe one day.

Finally they made it to the meeting room and closed the door behind them. Haytham, Johnson and Weeks were already present.

Shay: Where's Casse?

Haytham: Off to the shore of Vale. Mr. Weeks here is heading to Atlas in just a few days.

Ruby: So the our plan has begun?

Haytham: Indeed Miss Rose. This brings me to the reason of this meeting. I want the two of you to come with me to Mistral.

Shay: Mistral? What does that place have to do with the invasion?

Johnson: Recruitment. With Atlas closing it's borders and the increase of Grimm in Vale we need any Templar and huntsman we can find.

Ruby: Wait, Atlas is closing their borders?

Weeks: Yes. General Ironwood is starting to be afraid. On the bright side he continues to contract the "Red Cross Mercenaries", but this means we will have less troops at our disposal. But that's not all. You'd never guess who we spotted this morning.

He opened his scroll and placed it on the table in front of Ruby and Shay. It was a picture of Jack the Ripper blending in with the crowd to get into an airship.

Shay: It's Jack. He's leaving Signal?

Haytham: To Mistral no less.

Shay: Is this why you want my daughter to come with you? To use her as bait?!

Johnson: She knew the risk Cormac!

Haytham: Gentleman please! I admit, while Miss Rose here will most likely provoke this monster to come out of hiding, that is not the reason. Anytime we encountered Salem's followers, a disaster followed.

Shay: Then why not leave it to the Templars in Mistral?

Haytham: Because of the Fall of Beacon. If I remember correctly you yourself told me before it not to ignore any sing of threat. As such, in case we won't prevent the Grimm entering the city, our silver eyed warrior will be our best defence.

Ruby: Um... about that. I know my eyes can... freeze Grimm in some way, but I don't know how I did that. I only discovered the color of my eyes means something last year.

Haytham: No need to worry. I'm sure you will get the hang of it in time.

Ruby: But-

Haytham: That is all Miss Rose. I expect to see you and your father back here to depart for Mistral. May the Father of understanding guide us.

He left the room before anyone could object, with everyone else doing the same soon after. Ruby just kept thinking how can she just learn her new ability in time.

Rose Manor, Some time later

Shay was walking around the house. He was grabbing all necessities for the travel, from clothes to weapons. Meanwhile Ruby was sitting on the couch, recalling the first time she used her silver eyes. The day Beacon fell, the day saw Pyrrha perish.
