Chapter 11: Streets and Rooftops

Port of City of Vale, 11:59 pm

It was getting late. There were practically no people on the streets other than drunks, late workers, and party people. On top of the rooftop, Shay and Adewale were on a lookout. They were watching over a dust shop, hoping to catch Torchwick or even the mysterious associates in the act.

Adewale: Still nothing?

Shay: No sign of them.

Adewale: Are you sure they will hit this place?

Shay: This is the least monitored area since his last robbery. Torchwick always prefers the easier way out if he can.

Adewale: Speaking of "associates", where is your body guard?

Shay: Mr. Gist is doing a job for me in the other part of the city. What about your followers?

Adewale: They're not not followers. They are freedom fighters.

Shay: *chuckle* Is that what you call them? No matter the cause, they are no better than the White Fang. 

Adewale: So, you're one of those people. Those who claim my kind to be nothing but animals. Is that right?

Shay: What? No. I have nothing against the Faunus, but ever since the White Fang became extremist, more and more people get hurt for petty revenge. So tell me "old friend" what is different about the faction you lead?

Adewale: Because we don't seek power! The White Fang have long forgotten what they stood for, we have not. I know you think of the Brotherhood as the source of chaos, but what has your Order done to help the Faunus?

Shay didn't answer, he looked down for a second, thinking. Suddenly, he was awakened by a loud screech of tires. He looked to the street just when a van crashed into the dust shop across the street. A group of White Fang members jumped out from the back and started to grab dust, Torchwick was with them.

Adewale: Guess we found our target.

Shay: So we did.

The two of jumped down, taking down a few guards while at it. Adewale took out his machete, while Shay grabbed his rifle and pointed it at Torchwick.

Shay: Roman Torchwick!

Torchwick: Ah! Well isn't this a pleasant surprise. I was hoping the Order would have sent you. Although, I did not expect you would team up with the Assassins.

Shay: I could have said the same thing about you and the Fang.

Torchwick: *chuckles* It's like you always said behind my back. "Even thugs can follow the right cause, with the right price". (turns to thugs) Get them.

(Battle Music!)

A couple White Fang members charged at Shay, as Torchwick and the other members jumped into a van. Shay used the butt of his gun, knocking out the first assailant and instantly dropping a smoke bomb in front the others. He past all of them and got out of the smoke, the van just drove away. Shay fired a few rounds towards it until it got out of range, successfully hitting the doors. Suddenly, he felt a hand grabbing him by the shoulder, and a fist hitting his face, the White Fang members pulled themselves together and were now ready to fight Shay, but from behind the group, sounded a powerful roar of a bear, Adewale charged through the goons, pushing them all to the ground.

Adewale: The van went left, you can still catch them. Now go!

Shay nodded and ran into the alley between the dust shop and a residential building, leaving Adewale to fight the thugs. Shay used the boxes placed there to quickly get to the roof, when he got to the top, Shay saw the van down on the street. He speeded up, jumpring from rooftop to rooftop. Far away, he saw the line of building was about to end. Shay was able to catch up to the van, the final edge was getting closer. When the time came, he leaped foward and succesfully landed on top of the van. The back doors suddenly opened, Shay used this opportunity and grabbed the White Fang memeber with his legs, throwing him onto the street, he then lundged at another kicking him in the face, Torchwick stood right in front of him. Shay took out his sword and was about to take a swing at Roman, but another member of the White Fang appeared from behind the boxes of dust, and tuckled Shay, making the two of them fall out of the van. When they hit the ground the White Fang member tried to stab Shay with a knife she carried, but before that could happen, Shay sucker punched his assialiant in the face cracking the left side of the mask. The van was gone, Torchwick escaped.
