It was a sunny day and a good day for going outside. Shay walked over to the kitchen in his daily clothes, reading daily news on the scroll.

He reached for the top shelf, but stopped after feeling a small pain in his abdominal, an old scar that still held with him to this day. For all he knew, it might as well have been due to his age, after all his prime ended a few years back. Eventually, Shay used his left hand to reach for the shelf and took out a cup to prepare his morning coffe. As he was about boil the water, he saw a note on the counter from Yang.
Shay (in thought): "Morning dad, hope your feeling okay. I took Ruby with me to practice sparing beofre I leave for Beacon. We'll be back soon. Yang". Hmm, that's odd, they did the same thing last week. Oh well, I'm sure their fine. I'll check on them after the coffee.

Somewhere near the Rose Manor
Ruby and Yang were in the middle of a sparing session. Yang being the the victor once more, knock Ruby to the ground.
Ruby: Ooow.
Yang: Come on. You totally could've dodged that.
Yang offered Ruby a hand, which Ruby takes.
Ruby: Yang! I've already told you, I'm just not cut out for hand-to-hand. Why can't I just use my beautiful Crescent Rose?
Yang: That's exactly why I wouldn't let you bring it. Dad always said we should be versatile in a fight, both up close and from afar.
Ruby: Ugh.
Yang: Besides... I'm gonna be leaving for Beacon soon. I wanna make sure my little sis can hold her own while I'm gone.
Ruby: Fine.
Both of them took a fighting stance, Ruby barely had time to block as Yang landed the first punch with her left arm followed by more swings. Ruby was able to evade all the attacks, get behind Yang and attempted to counterstrike, but got tripped by Yang. She was heading for antoher punch, but Ruby used her semblance to run away into the bushes.
Yang: Nice one, sis! You're not always going to be able to run away from your problems, though. Sometimes, you just have to stand your ground and fight, no matter what. Alright, enough rest! Get back out here.
There was no responce. Just sounds of something moving in the bushes.
Yang: Ruby?
Yang used her eagle vision to search the bushes, she saw something, but it wasn't a Ruby. It had a dark energy all around it.
