Damian's chapter!

I.O.N.

Enjoy!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Damian could understand where Marinette's homicidal rage was coming from. He had lived through it himself. Seeing everyone who'd come before you, who your father had chosen to keep with him, and seeing them and their interactions, while he acts like you are a monster he never asked for, it could cause homicidal tendencies in the best of them.

So when she launched herself at Todd, he wasn't concerned. Father had been alienating her and refusing to bond. Marinette needed an outlet and it didn't seem like Father would be telling her the family secret any time soon, so attempted murder would have to do.

That didn't make his brother's faces any less amusing in the following weeks when she ambushed them all separately and together. Surprisingly she never went after Damian or Father, but Damian counted that as Marinette having common sense in regards to him, and having something much bigger planned for Father. But Damian also understood that no matter how effective and shocking her initial attacks were, if she didn't step up her game, it would all prove futile.

That's why, two weeks after her first attack on Todd, Damian sought her out. It was a rare sunny day in Gotham and Marinette was soaking it up in the garden.

"What do you want Damain?" the relaxed girl asked, without looking away from the sun.

"Your attacks against the others-"

"I'm not stopping."

"I'm not asking you to."

That caused a reaction. Marinette opened one eye and looked at him, "You're not out here, apparently disproving years of vampiric myths, to tell me I should stop tormenting them?"

"No. I'm out here to help you continue surprising them, and keep them off balance."

"Why."

"Because despite what you think, I was once in your place as well."

Marinette laughed, "Right the bio kids he never wanted so he acts like a cold bastard."

Damian smiled ever so slightly, "Basically."

"Say I let you help me. What do you get out of it?"

Damian smirked evilly, a stark reminder of how he grew up, "The pleasure of seeing my brothers in complete chaos."

Marinette's smirk matched his own, "Deal."

And at that moment, every other Wayne felt a shiver run up their spines.
