As the Joker stumbled back, his face showed complete shock. Marionette smiled, her eyes as steely and dead as his own. Joker fell to the ground clutching the stab wound in his side.
Marionette close to danced over, and when she came to stand in front of Joker, she bent down and said just loud enough for him to hear, "I don't take kindly to being a puppet." She stood up and walked away.
When she was halfway across the room, the Joker let out one of his signature laughs, "He'll never forgive you for this you know! For killing me!"
Marionette paused and turned to face him once again letting her smile stretch even wider, "It's a good thing I'm not looking for his forgiveness then isn't it?" Then in a move that would have had Marinette tripping over herself, Marionette reclaimed her spot next to him in a heartbeat and slit his throat with the same dagger she had used to initially stab him, the smile never leaving her face. Marionette left the warehouse and the Joker's body with little fanfare.
She had much bigger fish to fry.
