Just so everyone knows the line running through my head when I published the last two chapters were the first two lines of Just Like You by Falling In Reverse.

Damien was the first to wake. The gala was in shambles and guests were knocked out all over the room.

Memories of what happened filtered in.

Joker attacking.

Smoke filling the room.

Passing out before he had a chance to react.

A growing sense of horror rose in Damien as he looked around for his family. There was a small feeling of relief as he counted all of his brothers as well as his father. That relief was short-lived.

Because no matter where he looked, Damien couldn't find Marinette.

---

Jason woke up startled. At first, he thought he was thirteen again, about to be brutally beaten by the Joker. But then his surroundings filtered in and he realized he was still at the gala hall.

When he stood up, he noticed the others starting to stir. All except for Damien who was already up and staggering about, a well-hidden panic in his eyes.

"Damien. Who's missing?" Jason asked, after swallowing a few times.

"Have you seen Marinette?"

Jason started remembering when he had been captured, except now, instead of a boy in a Robin suit it was a young woman in a handmade ball gown. The world started growing darker and Jason really felt like he might pass out again.

---

Tim doesn't remember waking up. Which wasn't unusual for him, gala's tend to exhaust him more than normal so sometimes he just wakes up in his bed at the manor. This time though. This time he finds himself catching a falling Jason almost on instinct in the middle of the gala where they were supposed to be introducing Marinette officially.

The facts of the evening race through his head as he lowers Jason to the floor. But no matter which way he spun it, there was no good in this situation.

Marinette was, for all intents and purposes, a civilian (as far as they were aware) and no one deserved whatever the Joker had planned.

---

Waking up on the floor was never a pleasant experience for Dick. It usually meant that some baddy had gotten the upper hand and was now preparing some villainous monologue.

Oh, how Dick wished this was one of those times.

Unfortunately what he woke up to was the glaring fact that his baby sister, the one he had been growing steadily closer to despite her not stopping her semi-violent attacks on him, was now a hostage to the Joker.

The very same clown that had killed Jason.

Even with whatever knock-out gas still running through his veins, Dick stood up, ignored Bruce who was still unconscious, turned to his brothers, and said, "We've got work to do."

---

As one the four Waynes hurried out of the building, and completely missed the fact that four guests were also conscious and currently staring at the very important magical jewelry that Marinette had purposely dropped away from her before falling unconscious.

Carefully Adrien, Chloe, Luka, and Nino each picked up a Miraculous and headed to a darker corner of the large room.

The Kwami appeared and were told in halting and confused tones what had happened.

"We must rescue Marinette as soon as possible," Wayzz said seriously. "Who knows what this 'Joker' person might do."

Xuppu eyed the four in front of them, "We know that the bats will soon be on the case, but there might be something we can do in the meantime to speed up the process if you're willing."

The four former wielders knew where the small monkey-like creature was going and all four resolutely nodded their heads. "Alright."

Before the rest of the party-goers had awoken, four more heroes rushed out of the hall.

Meanwhile

A high-pitched giggle filled the dark Gotham night, and the few civilians out paled and quickly hurried on their way to the nearest unlocked door, and prayed that the Joker's new prodigy wouldn't follow them.

On a nearby rooftop, a young woman in a bloodied ball gown looked over the city, and let out another deranged giggle as a smile split her face.
