As Singe Doré, Hard Rock, Plume, and Lune were following their communicators to where their kwami were leading them, (hopefully to the Bat Cave), when a figure gracefully landed in front of them with little more than a swish of her dress and a giggle.
"Oh lookie!" The figure said, "A little band of animals! It would be so much fun to play with them!"
It took the horrified gasp of Singe Doré for the others to realize who was standing in front of them. "Marinette?" Plume asked a small hint of fear in his voice.
The figure in front of them gave another giggle that lacked all the warmth they remembered from her and wagged her finger like she was scolding a puppy, "Now now now! Who would want to talk about her little birdie? I'm Marionette now!"
Hard Rock edged forward slowly with his hands out, "Alright Marionette. If you'll come with us, we can get you some help."
In less than a heartbeat the demented but cheery girl was gone and in her place stood a very angry Marionette, "WELL MAYBE I DON'T WANT HELP!" And without warning, she launched herself at Hard Rock.
Hard Rock wasn't expecting the attack and narrowly dodged, and had no time at all to avoid her second hand that gripped him and threw him back at his teammates. If not for the magical quality of their suits he would have definitely broken some bones.
Singe Doré called for Uproar, but Marionette managed to throw a shingle at the falling object so that it hit Lune, instead.
Plume didn't dare try and create an amok for fear of what Marionette would do to it. Or with it.
"I'll let you go because I'm having a wonderful time right now. But if I see you again... Well. The Joker would be ever so kind and let me keep you as pets." With that foreboding line, the four heroes watched as Marionette danced her way across the rooftops of Gotham, like the demented puppet she was monikered after.
