Bella took a sip of her favorite sweet mocha with caramel drizzle frappuccino while waiting for the green light. There were many faces she did not recognize, going on about their own lives. Some were high schoolers on their way to school; somewhere office workers on their way to work — both running late. It seemed to be a daily occurrence in Bella's life. If I could only leave this world. Bella jokingly thought.
Her career life was stagnant. Although she had been employed in a prestigious company, the company's reputation was a total fraud. They didn't value their employees well enough. The only thing that has kept her going was the high-paying salary.
Bella took another sip of her frappuccino. The cold iced frappuccino traveled down her throat smoothly, making her feel refreshed. She swore that this was the only thing she always looked forward to every morning. Unlike her friends, her dating life was pretty dull. Not that she hadn't been asked out before, but she just had never been interested in anyone. She never really took an interest in guys, and girls didn't ask her out either way. I should have tried dating a girl. Bella thought. A flash of memory triggered her mind, felt like deja vu; she did fall in love once — with a female teacher.
Busy thinking about the past, someone accidentally bumped into her. Bella interpreted it as a signal, telling her to cross the street. Bella quickly got on her feet and started to walk towards the road.
Bella's body stiffened when she heard a loud horn, her eyes widened when a sudden car hit her body entirely. The frappuccino that was previously on her hand, was now spilled on the floor—my frappuccino.
Before she knew it, her breath became heavy; she couldn't feel her limbs — it was all numb. The sky was still shining brightly in the sky — her vision became blurry. Lying on the hard concrete, she couldn't comprehend why there were many moving dark circles. All she could hear were whispers surrounding her.
That's right, she was about to go to her hell of a workplace. A company that didn't prioritize their employees' mental health. Bella cursed. She couldn't afford another tardy day, or else her company might lay her off. She couldn't afford that, there might not be a chance to get hired to another high paying company. She just needs to swallow up the pain and go to work. Despite how many times Bella tried to convince her body to get up, it never listened to her. Instead, she felt sleepy. Closing her eyes, darkness filled her.

Opening her eyes, Bella found herself standing in a line. She looked from left to right. There were many people like her — all lining up. Calm down. You're dead, so what is this? The line kept moving forward. Bella followed the line; she wasn't sure what she's supposed to do. All she knew was that she was dead anyway.
Bella inhaled a deep breath. It wouldn't hurt to follow the line. Bella kept walking forward as the line moved. She observed where the place was — it was all pitch black. Bella felt her headache coming. She clenched her jaws. Damn it. Those piercing pain is sending her wild. She held her palm, rubbing her forehead in hopes of easing the pain. She sighed. It worked, now the headache vanished. She could only see others who were falling in line amidst the darkness. It made her wonder what was happening. Where could she be walking towards? She could only hope that it's not something frightening as Hell. She had been a good girl all these years.
Bella shook her thoughts away. All she could think was that it would be a better paying and a better place than the company that she was working for before dying. She is confident in her own skills; there's no way she wouldn't be hired immediately. Bella gently pinched her nose continuously for a few times. There's really no hint or whatsoever to where this place really was. Bella squinted.
An idea popped up inside her head. She tried poking someone standing in front of her. Her finger only passed through the body of the person in front of her, it seemed like they weren't able to touch each other.
Before she knew it, she was already in front of the line. A man with long wavy blond hair with a beard was in front of her. She looked back and saw that the line that was previously behind her was now long gone.
"It's just a protective screen," The man answered.
Bella's eyes narrowed. She couldn't trust a man who's only wearing a bathrobe while sitting on an office chair with a desk full of scribbles. Bella peaked at the scribbles and couldn't completely understand what was written.
"Who are you?" Bella asked.
"Who am I? You're the first person to ask," He said, laughing hysterically.
Bella pinched her nose gently again. Let's be calm. He might have answers to my questions.
"If you don't want to tell me who you are, it's-" Bella was cut off.
The man jumped out from his chair and leaned forward with a beaming smile on his face. He smells like cigarettes. Bella unconsciously scrunched her nose. She never liked men who smoked because the smell irritates her nose.
"You're funny! I'm someone you shouldn't know," The man said in a harsh voice, "or even remember."
"Why are you asking this sort of question? Could you perhaps still have your memories intact?" The man said with eyes that he could murder someone.
Bella swallowed her saliva. Had she made a mistake? For all she knows, this person might be God himself. Her friends and her had significantly believed in Heaven and Hell. They were a religious bunch. Had God not heard about her at all? The man in front of her talks made her doubt that this person is the supreme being. After all, he did look at her with fierce eyes.
"Are you perhaps God?" Bella managed to utter.
She wouldn't mind dying if she got to meet the being she had believed in her whole life.
"You mean Adonis? I'm not the ruler of the land you call Heaven," The man casually corrected her.
He then smiled again and handed her a candy-like child. What is he saying? Ruler of Heaven? Adonis? Bella was baffled. It's as if she was talking to a foreign man. It made her doubt whether the man was insane or not.
"Thank you for the candy. That's not the main point. It's just that I'm already dead, right?" Bella said, her heart pounding.
The person in front of her was rather moody after all. Who knows if he wanted to slaughter her or throw her in Hell? Just as Bella had predicted, the smile on the man's face disappeared. Bella felt chills down her spine. What's with that murderous aura? She wondered.
The man opened his eyes, and with an irritated voice, he whispered, "So you know."
The man then flashed his enthusiastic smile again, almost giving Bella a heart attack. Can he not change moods so suddenly? He's worse than a woman in her period. The man extended his hand and looked up as if he was posing for a photoshoot.
"Let's get this over with, baby! The long lines are not going to reduce themselves!" he said enthusiastically as he jumped up on the table.
"Tell me. What would you choose? Heaven or Hell?" he asked, looking at Bella seriously as if her fate depended on it.
"Hell?" Bella repeated the word with her eyebrows furrowed. She was perplexed.
What did he mean by Heaven or Hell? Bella wondered.
"Hell, it is! Woah, it's been fifty years since someone chose Hell. Damn. Sometimes we even have to trick or force people to enter Hell since Adonis always complains that his land is far too populated! Satan has it tough too!" The man complained, crossing his arms.
Unknown to Bella, she should have thought of her decisions carefully before speaking. Her fate depends on it, of course.
With a snap of his fingers, Bella disappeared in front of the man.
"Next!" the man shouted.
I better send the other hundred to Hell. I hope Satan is doing fine. The man thought.
