Hord Kayleigh wore her pajamas as she sat on her king-size bed. The howling wind brushed past her cheeks — the night was cold. She didn't bother to close the windows in hopes a particular blonde might appear. Hord Kayleigh stared at the window. How could she not know who her assassin was? Or, perhaps she didn't want to.

Hord Kayleigh felt a hint of jealousy; she sighed. I love her, don't I? If not, then I'm certainly attracted to her. Hord Kayleigh then felt her cheeks hot, and her neck became red. I'm acting like such a kid. Well, she never was the one to initiate a move, not until when she met her. Just as her thoughts were being filled with the assassin, a shadow appeared.

The assassin stood by the window with the same mask and masquerade mask on her face. Her beautiful blonde hair cascading past her shoulder and her bright blue eyes illuminated against the moon.

It made Hord Kayleigh's heart skip a beat. She came. Hord Kayleigh slipped away from her bed and walked towards where the assassin was, making her step back.

"Why are you doing this?" Hord Kayleigh asked as if her heart was being toyed initially, only to be left confused, like being stuck inside a maze.

There was silence. The assassin refused to answer.

"I already know who you are. No wonder why the knights never were after you," Hord Kayleigh chuckled. Of course, the person she's interested in should be wise.

"Aren't you a knight's lover? Tell me, why are you doing this?" Hord Kayleigh's forehead wrinkled.

"Why do you want to kill me? Why-why are you making me fall for you?" She finished. The mere thought that the assassin in front of her was a lover of one of her knights made Hord Kayliegh's s heart ache. She fully knew that some knights would sneak their lovers in, but this was different. Hord Kayleigh never realized. She hadn't anticipated for this event to happen.

Hord Kayleigh could see the clear confused eyes of the assassin. That revelation must have shocked the other girl.

The assassin pulled down her mask and threw her masquerade mask on the floor.

Hord Kayleigh felt a shortness of breath, and her ears reddened. Why had she not properly looked at her before? It was her chef. She didn't know if she was happy or scared. The fact that she was standing face-to-face with her killer. She liked her food, and it would be a waste to fire the girl in front of her, and she surely wouldn't like the person she loves to be sent away.

"Oh," Hord Kayleigh only managed to say.

"Are you going to fire me then, now that you know," the assassin stood there, her face becoming pale.

"I was just glad that you're not someone else's lover," Hord Kayleigh said, her eyes staring warmly at her killer — well, employee.

Selene raised one of her eyebrows. And, here I thought she was cold, but- Selene blushed. She's sweet.

Hord Kayleigh walked towards her, "At least let me know why you are planning to kill me all the time. Please."

Selene pursed her lips.

Hord Kayleigh, seeing that the girl in front of her stiffened, grabbed the assassin's hand and put it on her cheek, "I want to be with you. Please tell me. I want to fix what I have done wrong."

Selene's eyes widened. Had she heard correctly? Her target wanted to be with her? Her lover? That mere thought made her heart feel weird — in a happy way. She felt tingly all over her body.

"I-We bumped into each other, you scolded me. That's why it surprised me that you're this nice."

Hord Kayleigh searched through her memories. The girl she bumped into when she was in a hurry because of Satan Asiul's letter. That was her.
