Hord Kayleigh was feeling melancholy; her eyebrows formed a distraught. She unbuttoned her shirt only to fail miserably. The button was caught in a thread — it was stuck. Hord Kayleigh tried to work around the button and twisted it again and again with no luck. It was stuck. Hord Kayleigh sighed with much irritation. Who in their right mind would sew a buttoned shirt with tiny buttons? She ran her hands through her perfectly combed short purple hair, which is now messy. This is royally pissing me off.
Hord Kayleigh glanced at the window; the moon shone brightly tonight. Her heart sank. She's not here again. Maybe that's what really irritated her. Weeks had already passed, yet the mysterious assassin hadn't shown up. Hord Kayleigh felt complicated; her heart ached yet at the same time raced whenever her mind wondered about who the assassin could be.
She threw herself on the bed, breathing heavily — she's tired. Her wrinkles started to show, and her body felt heavy. She swore that she began to carry a gigantic rock while needles were acupunctured on her back every day — those piercing pain. She felt tired very quickly, as if she only had a limited amount of energy — most of it was spent elsewhere.
These days her brain's been playing with her; she couldn't focus one bit. She felt guilty when Satan Asiul had appeared in front of her uninvitedly. Even her secretary had been stressed these past few weeks because of her. She was either in cloud nine, detached from reality, or very irritated, angry, and cold towards everyone. It made her remember Azul, her former lover and ex-wife. Hord Kayleigh wanted to mock herself. How did she ever fall for a venomous viper? How the hell did she ever think that Azul's love for her was real? Well, Azul did make her a better person; she didn't regret that. Maybe Azul was there to hurt her to get her character development started.
Hord Kayleigh removed her boots and fitted trousers first before walking towards her wardrobe. Not feeling in the mood, she grabbed just whatever her hand could reach and slipped it between her knees. She looked down at her half unbuttoned shirt. I really shouldn't have fired my personal maid just because Azul wanted me to. Well, even when Hord Kayleigh wanted to, she couldn't. She was pretty smitten with her former lover before.
Hord Kayleigh slipped into her pajamas. She exhaled with relief. She was able to unbutton those damned tiny buttons that she's been trying to lose for ages. She walked towards her bedroom when suddenly a dagger flew towards her. Hord Kayleigh leaned away and managed to dodge the surprise attack. Her face brightened forthwith, her white teeth visible.
There she saw the assassin crouching on the window floor — shattered glasses scattered everywhere. Her eyes met those deep blue eyes of the intruder's — they locked eyes. The assassin was now wearing a masquerade mask with the same black cloth mask, covering her entire face. Hord Kayleigh felt disappointed. She couldn't see the assassin properly, not with the darkness. After what seemed a thousand hours, the assassin broke their stare and leaped towards Hord Kayleigh with her spare dagger on the other hand. She fell on her back towards the soft bed, ideally avoiding the attack again. The assassin missed, and her dagger stuck on the bed. Hord Kayleigh worried she'd have to change her mattress tomorrow. Well, it mattered no more. The culprit, who's been on her mind for days, finally showed up. Without delay, Hord Kayleigh grabbed the hands of the assassin — tightly. Her eyes filled with lust and curiosity. She leaned forward, so did the assassin — slower compared to her, unobtrusively. It's as if they were magnets pulling towards each other — opposites attract. With the assassin a tad distracted because of Hrod Kayleigh's charm, she now used free hand and lifted the cloth mask of the assassin. Those sweet plump lips that she had been craving. Then, she leaned closed until those soft lips met hers, melting her entirely. It was lovely, quiet, addictive, and sweet — it tasted like blueberry crumble.
Unexpectedly, the assassin didn't reject her until realization crept.
Kayleigh's eyes opened in a flash when those sweet lips left hers. The assassin glared at her, with a hint of confusion and complicated feelings in her eyes. Then without saying a word, she jumped down the window, leaving her thoroughly aroused and missing the touch of the assassin's lips. The touch still lingered. Wanting her brain to fully remember what the assassin tasted like, she licked her lips. An amused smile appeared on her face. She went to bed happily— no longer tired and irritated.
So she also had blueberry crumble for dinner.
