Just as the blade was diving into the god's chest a flash of lightning hit your legs, making you fall to the floor and groan in pain.

"Y/N, were you literally about to kill my brother?" Thor asks slightly surprised since he knows that you're capable of doing it without feeling bad for it, but still didn't expect you to actually do it since Loki is the only thing he has left and even though he knows you are ruthless with the people that bother you, he thought there would at least still be a slight part of empathy left. Well, he was wrong.

"Yes Thor, I was, and you ruined it!" you argue with the god.

"I didn't ruin anything Y/N, I just saved the only thing that I have left of not only my family but my entire life. So if you wouldn't mind, I would very much appreciate it if you would stop trying to kill him," Thor bursts out while Loki just stands behind you with his mouth slightly agape to the little speech his brother just held about protecting him.

You feel a wave of regret wash over you because you actually tolerated Thor a lot more than other people at this compound and respected him as a person and a god a lot even if you're not quite showing it. But even though he just told you how hurt he is by you, constantly trying to kill his brother, you wouldn't just let him see how bad you actually feel for doing so.

"Well, congratulations! You came in perfect timing for me to not kill him," you hiss at him before leaving the room and walking into yours as you slam the door.

~A week later~

After the incident that happened or almost happened a week ago, everyone was avoiding any social contact with you.

Everyone besides Bucky. He likes having you at the compound, he says 'it's more drama' and since he's an observer it's some great fun for him.

Even Nat stopped talking to you since she grew pretty fond of Thor and actually likes him a lot and thought your actions last week crossed the line but she'll give you time to get a grip on your temper.

Now, you and Bucky sit on your bed and watch Rick and Morty,

"So Rick is the smartest guy on the planet and still didn't solve basic world problems but travels around the realms, mainly to drink?" he questions the weird show that was one of your favorites.

"Smartest guy in the universe and he gets him and his grandson in some sort of problem almost every episode, and due to the fact that he is a genius, he's always able to solve these problems throughout the episode," you answer the super-soldier with your eyes fixated on the screen.

"But if he's such a genius, why is he getting into these situations in the first place?"

"Why did Stark built Ultron?"

"Well, he didn't know that Ultron would be causing problems."

"Exactly Bucky, you don't always know which action will end up being a bad one and which decision will cause a problem. Sometimes you just can't avoid getting into a bad situation," you tell him, to which he just nods as you both continue to watch the episode.

"Miss Y/L/N, Mister Barnes, Tony wants you in the conference room. It's an emergency." you hear F.R.I.D.A.Y. say through the small speakers in your room.

You groan and put the TV on pause as both of you jump out of bed and walk to the conference room at a fast pace.

As you open the glass door you see Loki sitting on your seat,

"Brother, get up, it's her seat and it's always been," you turn your head to Thor, surprised that he defended you and your seat. You wait until he looks back at you and you nod as a sign of respect to which he just gives you a slight smile.

As you see Loki rolling his eyes in protest he still gives in, standing up and gesturing for you to take a seat.

"How nice," you say drily.

"A bit more gratefulness never hurt anybody, dear," Loki smirked leaning on the wall right behind you.

You close your eyes, taking deep breaths in order to not freak out and kill him every now and then especially since you feel Natashas eyes watching your reaction to his arrogant tone.

She was very pleased to see you just opening up your eyes again, not looking too fazed about his comment.

But you couldn't just let him win this fight, no matter how small it was so you decide on just flipping him off which he didn't understand since Asgard haven't had this kind of insult so you just turn around and say,

"It means 'fuck you'," you turn back around, pretty pleased with your temper not acting up and just winning this conversation once again.

Nat just shakes her head, still smiling since she uses this insult as well and wouldn't expect you to not do anything at all, she knows your pride.

The door opens and a slightly stressed-out Tony walks in.

"Why exactly are we here?" Thor asks curiously.

"Yeah, why did Bucky and I have to stop our Rick and Morty marathon?" you say while Bucky nods in agreement, pouting like a little kid who just lost their favorite toy.

"Calm down kid, you don't actually think I'd let you and Reindeer games here on a mission if it wouldn't be absolutely necessary?"

You aren't quite sure if he wants an answer to that but even if he does, the fact that he called you 'kid' again after all this time irritated you a lot while also finding your soft spot for this man again.

The fact that you couldn't let him die even if it meant that you had to sacrifice yourself, the fact that he was like a father or more like a chill uncle to you, and the fact that he would've done the same for you three years ago touched you in a very unknown kind of way.

"Kid?... Y/N!" Tony snaps his fingers to get your attention back.

"Y-yeah, I'm here," you snap out of your thoughts.

"Well, do you all remember Bucky from a few years ago? Like the killing machine, aggressive kinda guy we had to punch for his memories to come back?"

"Hey..." Bucky pouts again as Steve just pats his shoulder in comfort.

"Yeah, Hydra just released some more of these into society who are now running around, killing random people," Tony states.

"You're talking about them as if they're animals, there's still human in them-"

"Bucky. Bucky, it's okay, he's just a bit stressed out," Steve now pets his friend as if he's a cat to calm him down.

"We need to make teams to find all of them. They're all over New York and we don't know how many there are but be prepared for approximately eight to ten," Tony warns.

"I'm with Clint and Steve," Natasha says.

"Okay noted, I'll go with Point Break and the Manchurian Candidate," Tony suggests as both of them just nod in approval.

"No, hold on. I go with Bucky. Or Nat I don't care. Please guys you can't, you wouldn't-"

You couldn't team up with the one person you hate the most out of all of them. No matter how desperate you sounded while pleading to not have to team up with him. This isn't an option.

"Oh we can and we will let you two team-up. If one of you decides to change your mind and not help us anymore none of the other two teams will be affected by it," Tony grins, knowing exactly what he's doing to you two.

You just get up and leave the room hearing Tony scream,

"Quinjet in 20 minutes, kid."
