After debating for another 12 hours, bringing in some others of the team. Talking to Bucky for three hours and to Nat for another two, your decision was made."Okay, I'll give up my powers," you say, sitting on your bed with puffy eyes since you've been crying for the past days, mostly because of Loki but also because of the pressure you are under no matter what your decision would've been.
"I'm proud of you, Y/N," Bucky holds his arms out for you to snuggle into and cry yourself out one more time before getting your shit together.
"Thank you, Buck," you muffle into his chest.
"That was a first," he chuckles, earning a light giggle from you.
"Now go take a shower, put some fresh clothes on and eat something to be all energized for your little spell," he ruffles your hair before standing up and gently pushing you into the bathroom.
"Did you just indirectly say I smell?" you ask, raising an eyebrow.
"No, I just acknowledged that you haven't showered nor changed in four days," he quickly says while running out of your room.
You just shake your head and get into the shower, probably the fastest one you've ever had.
After being completely done you step out of your room. First time after four days and the air smells different out here.
Walking through the long hallway you come past Thor's door and decide to knock.
"Who is it?" he growls.
"Y/N."
"Get lost," he throws something at the door which makes you flinch but didn't scare you enough to make you leave so you open the door anyway.
"Why knock when you come in anyway?" the god snarls at you.
"To warn you that I'm coming in?" you try to excuse yourself.
"What's the matter?" he scowls at you.
"I've made a decision," you start.
"Oh great, am I supposed to applaud now?"
"No, but maybe listen since you'll hopefully be happy to hear that I'm currently on my way to bring your brother back to us," you explain, seeing his lips curl into an excited smile.
"Wait, really?" he asks unbelievingly.
"Pinky promise," you answer, holding out your pinky for him to shake.
"Ouch! Thor let go of my pinky!" you yell as the god squeezes your pinky to the point where you were sure it would just fall off.
"My apologies," the god gives your pinky a small peck instead to which you just laugh.
"Come on now, we have to bring someone back to life," you take the god's hand and lead him outside of his room into the living room.
The entire team sits on the couches and everyone turns their head as soon as the two in grief drowning people walk in.
"Long time no see," Tony smiles at you and Thor.
"Yeah, whatever," you wave him off.
"What are you-" Steve starts.
"Bucky, Nat, please explain, we're busy," you tell the two knowing people in the room as they nod and start to explain.
You and Thor walk out of the compound to Lokis grave that isn't really a proper grave, it's just a buried casket with his helmet on top of it.
You breathe in deeply and use your magic for the first time in days to get the casket out of the ground.
As soon as you lay the see-through casket onto the grass you look at Lokis' body rather irritated since it looks literally perfect.
"I know it's just been a couple of days but shouldn't he look a bit different than just a sleeping version of himself?" Thor questions, looking just as irritated as you.
"Can you open it up?" you ask the god to which he just nods walking to the coffin and pulling it open. As he does so he's surrounded by fog that just bursts out of the casket.
"It's freezing cold," the god steps away from the fog to warm himself back up again.
"Oh, now it clicked. With putting Loki in a hard plastic casket, Tony basically made a corpse refrigerator," you explain with an enlightened face.
"But why would he do that?" Thor questions.
"Maybe to keep Lokis gorgeous face fresh for a little while longer...," you say looking at the blue body in front of you.
"Oh, something clicked between you and my brother too, huh?" Thor grins at your face.
"Shut it and let me do my job, blondie," you say while closing your eyes and lifting your arms a bit.
You don't exactly know what you are supposed to do now since no one ever explained it to you but your mind just keeps thinking about memories with Loki. It replays all of the encounters you've had with him since you came back from Italy.
From all of the hate and pain, guilt and rage, pressure and regret to eventually respect and comfort, safety and trust, and loyalty and selflessness.
You've both went through character development in all the positive ways. It made you feel good, he made you feel good. About yourself, your past, and your future. He reassured you and gave you hope in situations where you lost all of it. Even in the times you tried to kill one another, there was something more than rage, something beyond all the hate and here you are just now realizing what it was.
You brought back each other's vulnerability.
You feel a sharp pain rising from your core to your hands as you fall on your knees. The place where the peaceful memories just replayed is now tormenting your entire head with loud, unpleasant screeching noises. You slowly try to open your eyes as you see green, purple, and orange powers leaving your fingertips. Twirling their way around Lokis' blue body.
"It works, he's turning into his Asgardian form again. Please, Y/N, I know it hurts but don't give up. You can do it!" you hear Thor encourage you.
As the last bit of your power leaves your body your entire body starts to tremble while the screeching gets louder and your fingertips are flaming hot from all the energy that's coming out of them.
You scream your lungs out, trying to release some of the pain that's not only on your heart but is now torturing your entire body.
Just as you feel your consciousness leaving your body the pain suddenly stops, your head gets quiet and your screaming comes to a halt.
Not having enough energy left in your body you start to sink further onto the ground as you feel an upper body pressing against your back, holding you so you won't fall onto the ground.
"D- did it work?" you stutter out with your eyes closed.
After a moment of silence, you hear the person behind you say,
"I assume so, darling."
