2 Months Later:
Everything was going well according to plan.
Or so you wanted to say.
Your plan of trying to love Jungkook was an utter flop. You just couldn't love him the way you loved Taehyung. Jungkook knew that too, but, he kept putting up with it. He just wanted you closer to him and if it meant that you'd have to lie about your feelings, then so be it.
Much to your dislike, Taehyung and Areum were skyrocketing. They kept going on dates with eachother very frequently and you'd be lying if you said it didn't get on your nerves. It didn't get any better when she'd come home and ramble about how the date went or how Taehyung hugged her or wiped the food off her face or patted her head or pecked her cheek.
You and Taehyung on the other hand were out of control.
Both of you had become very feisty with eachother, bickering all the time like there was no end. Everyone would get fed up of how much you two bantered. No one knew how, why and when the relationship between the two of you became so vulgar but it just did. Little did they know it was all a façade that the both of you had adapted to because you wanted to stay away from eachother.
Jungkook and Areum were not fools. Both of them had figured it all out and were well aware that you and Taehyung held no romantic interest for them whatsoever. They should've stepped back...but, they didn't.
Selfish. They were humans too, they were selfish as well. They knew this would have no end-result but they still kept up to it, knowing they'd be the ones hurt in the end.
The KBS Song Festival was in two weeks so all the idols were working on a song. You were given the special requisition to be one of the MCs and you gladly accepted. You were delighted that Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Jin would be accompanying you. There was another person too but that's not important at the moment.
You stayed back after practice today. You didn't feel like going home just yet so here you were, walking to the elevator and finally going home hours after practice ended and your members left. All of a sudden, the sound of the piano being played stopped you. You, as usual, followed the tune.
You prayed that it'd be Yoongi because it'd been a long time since you had seen him. But, you also secretly hoped it'd be Taehyung though you did not want to see him.
At the door, you stopped in your tracks as you saw Taehyung's hazel brown hair. You turned around to leave but your shoes squeaked against the floor, making Taehyung turn around.
"Y/N?"
"Uh yeah, sorry, I was just, um, trespassing." You said, flustered now that his sole attention was on you.
"Trespassing? Interesting word to use..." He chuckled. God, you loved that sound. How much you had missed it. It had been almost two months since you had seen him smile at you genuinely. The sound of his voice making the air vibrate, his deep and raspy chuckles, his adorable boxy grin that made him seem like he never grew up from being a child.
Focus, Y/N!
"Would you like to hear something I composed last week?" Taehyung asked. He looked gentle today, instead of his usual snappy remarks. You contemplated before nodding anyway as you walked over and leaned against the piano from the opposite side. He smiled as he looked down at the keys and started playing the piece.
It was beautiful. Absolutely, wonderfully, incredibly, strikingly, enthrallingly beautiful.
Just like him.
He felt your eyes on him so he looked up. The moment your eyes met, you felt a spark.
A spark that told you that Kim Taehyung had successfully managed to screw your heart and that you were hopelessly falling in love with him.
