Taehyung sighed to himself, a small smile on his lips as he watched his grumpy wife put on her make-up in swift movements as you sat in front of the vanity, an ever-lasting scowl on your face.

"Stop frowning, my Queen." He softly called, a glare slicing him through the mirror the following second. "You'll get more wrinkles than you already have."

A foundation tube came flying at him, which he caught with precision, used to random objects being thrown at him after almost thirty years of marriage.

"Shut up." You retorted, lips tugging further downwards in offense. "You have more wrinkles than I do."

"Proudly so, it's because I smile so much." Taehyung's lips spread in a grin as he walked over to you, placing his hands on your shoulders and bending down to place his chin upon your head. "You're the cause of it."

You leered, "Kim Taehyung, you sweet-talking to me is not going to change my opinion on this."

His grin fell, replaced by a roll of his eyes. "Y/N, can you not be the stereotypical mother from K-dramas and support your son's happiness?"

"I do support his happiness!" You defended, eyes wide at his accusation. "I---I just---" you sighed, not knowing what exactly had you so worked up.

"He's eighteen." Taehyung coaxed you, his deep voice that had grown deeper over the years rumbled in your ears. "He's old enough to fall in love and find himself a girlfriend."

You looked away, not being able to meet his eyes in the mirror.

"Besides, you weren't so hostile when it was Chuchu who had brought home her boyfriend for the first time."

"Because, Chuchu brought home Jihwan, the kid we've known his entire life and watched him grow up. He's good for her."

"No, I'm talking about the boy she dated when she was fifteen. You didn't say anything about that."

"Because I knew it was a phase and it would pass. And, it did. She dumped him in two months."

"So, you're being like this because Baekhyun is serious about this girl?"

You exhaled, caving in as Taehyung had caught on. "She's a random girl we know nothing about, Tae. What if she leaves him later, or hurts him? Or worse, cheats on him? You know how deeply Baek feels. I just don't want to see him heart-broken."

Taehyung's arms hung around your neck as his chin rested on your shoulder, a warm smile on his face.

"Y/N, I get that you're protective of him and do not want your baby boy to be hurt. But then again, if he does get his heart broken, he will overcome it." Taehyung elucidated in a tranquil way, the warmth of his arms surrounding you calming you down effectively. "Isn't that how we've raised him?"

Taehyung gazed at the side of your face fondly as you chewed on your lip before sighing with a nod. "You're right. I'm being paranoid."

"You have nothing to worry about. I read it somewhere, boys are very good at choosing themselves a perfect partner to spend their lives with." Taehyung added with a grin that somehow still managed to melt your heart. "After all, look what a great job I've done with you."

"Cheeky jerk."

"Your jerk?"

"My jerk."

His lips met yours in a quick, habitual kiss before he straightened himself, bending backwards which released a sequence or cracking noises from his spine and he let out a relaxed groan.
