THE FLOATING spell slowly inked letters on the piece of paper placed atop the wooden stand, like a thread weaving a pattern to a sheet, writing a formal letter on it.

Kinuha iyon ng kanang kamay ng headmistress at lumapit sa kaniya upang i-abot ang papel. Patuloy na naghintay ang batang lalaki sa kinauupuan niya na nasa gilid lamang ng iskritoryo ng nakatataas.

In the highest chamber of Arozel, only the three of them were inside of it.

"This is your schedule," the head gave him the official letter. "Once a week, you have to check her state. Any aggressive remarks?"

Kinuha niya ang papel sa kamay nito. "As long as it will not intrude in my schedules."

"Of course. You can slip that schedule when you only have two sessions to attend to. Your free time is enough to execute your mission. After all, you're still in your 4th phase."

In his sixth phase, everything will definitely change, for sure.

As if it matters to him.

"How about the latter dates?" Usisa niya, nanatili iyong nakatingin sa papel na kaniyang hawak.

"You only have to do it for a maximum of six years, can you do it?"

May napagtanto iyon. "Only for six years? I thought this duty was bound for life."

But straight for six years is still a great deal. That's a lot of patience.

Does he have a choice, though?

"Well, it is. We'll start by week for now, hanggang sa maging buwan iyon," she smiled in relief. "But once she turns sixteen, we may recruit her here. It's easy to keep an eye on her once she is here."

"Hindi ba iyon makaka-apekto sa misyon ko?" Not knowing anything about her isn't the safest route for this mission, he thought.

As if she read his mind, her eyes gleamed with interest. "Are you worried that she might be a dangerous subject?"

Umiwas iyon ng tingin. Wala man sa itsura nito ang pagiging isang banta sa kaniyang buhay, ngunit hindi pa rin mawawala ang posibilidad na iyon. Not until he assured that possibility.
