THIRD PERSON

THE CHAMBER was steeped with solemnity, moonlight peeking through the chamber's windows, but it was no match for the flames exuded by the candelabras placed atop the tables.

Whilst a group of scholars, still awake and enjoying the accompaniment of stillness, stayed to this chamber. To their respective hideout. Inside a tower, standing tall with materials the same as those of castles shrouding the vastness of institution.

With a determined look, the blonde man cast his eyes, one like a prism, to his should be last movement on the board. Without revealing his whole plan, he claimed, "This is the final nail in the coffin, Haider."

Derisiveness danced in his lips.

His opponent's king is surely playing a dangerous game.

A light smile was plastered on the woman's face sitting just beside him. The rose-haired one giggled as she clung her hands around his arm. "What now, Haider? Don't tell us your pride will fall down now? Against my dearest seer." She tried to sound more provocative.

But his opponent's unwavering wit and dominance never faltered. Hindi niya hinayaang guluhin nito ang atensyon niya sa kanilang laro. Kaine continued to observe his movements, then his fixed eyes. But there is no trace of anxiety in there, not even tension. He's playing it like it's just a child's game.

"Stop your clinginess, Seile. It's disgusting." He suddenly blurted.

Umawang ang bibig ng babae, bahagya namang nabigla si Kaine sa sinabi nito at lumingon kay Seile na patuloy na nakadikit sa kaniya. He didn't mind at all. He didn't even feel it. The contact felt too foreign for him to even mind it. He just smiled.

"Huh? Don't stick your nose to someone's business!" She fussed.

Kaine laughed a bit. "She just likes to stay in my embrace."

Haider placed his next movement on the board. "I wouldn't be surprised now if you two had already done that."

Her face flushed in an instant. "What the hell, Haider! What were you even thinking? It's not-!"

Kaine chuckled calmly. "Very unlikely."

With a grimace, she stood up from their seat. Hinarap niya ang lalaking nakasandal sa pader malapit sa pinto ng kanilang silid. The guy there remained serene with his eyes closed, head lowly inclined, and his arms crossed. "Hoy, Tristan! 'Wag kang matulog d'yan at pagsabihan mo nga 'tong kapatid mo!"

He slightly opened his eyes, but only ignored them.

Muling umupo si Seile sa tabi ni Kaine.

"Why do you need my presence here in the first place?" Tristan muttered to himself, irritated. But no one heard it.
