SASKIA'S POV Era 982
IF DEATH WERE the answer to my pleas, I would gladly accept it. At this point, I don't have anything left to wish for except that one thing. In just a single moment, I watched everything I held so dearly slip through my fingers.
The town where I have lived since I was a child. So young and oblivious, yet they still welcomed a strange girl like me. The warm smiles who used to greet me every morning. Their voices who used to call my name whenever I was near them.
They were gone.
The one who became my family when I had nothing to call my own, when I didn't know where my real family was - if only I had realized sooner enough that they were always there for me, even in the slightest possible way.
But now they are gone.
In that one moment, they were all taken from me, leaving me with nothing.
Nothing but this now useless life I have.
. . . What should I do now?
I have nothing left anymore.
Not even a place to stay in, not even a soft bed to lie on, not even a food to take in, not even a family to return to.
I'd rather die than have this hell.
It was like a while ago.
But suddenly, I felt a soft fabric on my back. Comfortably cradling my whole body. My eyes start to twitch when I gain back my consciousness. I wasn't aware for how long, but even resting, warm and secure, my body felt strange.
Ah, it was a long dream.
How long have I been unconscious?
My back aches a lot but it wasn't my concern right now.
Eyes widened, I tightly gripped the sheet.
A long . . . dream.
Something is stirring inside me. I can barely breathe again. My thoughts raced with endless questions and what-ifs.
