SASKIA'S POV

EVERYTIME THE clock ticks, it frees the room from drowning in silence. My mind remained restless while I was torn between these two ideas running like a carousel in my mind. I don't know if I should remain calm or be more wary of this situation.

Everything seems peaceful than we could have imagined, but I know the enemies are still tracking every possible trace I left behind so they can find me again.

Even if I was able to, I still think that I can't.

My eyes glazed over my hands at the table, lost in thought.

How did she know she would die on that exact day? Even a mage can't predict such uncertainties. Now I'm thinking that we weren't just an ordinary citizen there.

Ano'ng tinatago sa 'kin ni mama?

I remained sitting on my chair, in front of the infirmary's wooden table.

I faintly smiled at it. Strange. It was really strange but that's the reason why it is also mesmerizing.

I heaved a sigh as I stood up. "Sino naman ang magtatangkang kunin ito? Weird."

But I trust his instinct. I just find it bizarre for someone to target it. Taking someone's possession would mean that you're envious of it. Envious of its beauty?

I chuckled out of the thought. But I know there's a deeper reason for that.

Maybe.

The infirmary's door creaked, iniluwa nito ang isang babaeng may lab coat na puti. It was Nurse Zanrah.

First thing first na ginagawa niya tuwing umaga ay ang dalhan ako ng tray ng breakfast. How kind of her. Although I understand she's just fulfilling her duty, I still find it thoughtful for someone to visit me every mealtime.

"Are you feeling well now?" She asked as she stepped in.

"I've been," I turned around my chair to confront her. "Since yesterday, wala naman na po akong nararamdaman."

"Even the injury in your head?"

"Injury?" Kinapa ko ang aking ulo.

Wala namang naiwan na injury doon.
