SASKIA'S POV

HER GRIP WRAPS the soil beneath her, so tight, before trying to stand up with unsolid balance. Some strands of her stygian hair messily caressing her face. Neck bruised and wounded. Black cloak washed up by the debris of stones she got thrown to earlier.

But I know my face is messier than her due to the blood smearing on it. My eyes were never calmer when I found her location. Lips parted and eyes wide open, I asked, "H-Half sister?"

"You heard it right," malapad niyang ibinuka ang black cloak na nasa likuran niya na sumabay sa pag-alon ng hangin, nahulog ang ilang buhangin na dumikit doon. "You're a fruit of forbidden love."

"Do you understand this? Your mother is an Aslerian, but our father . . . is a Hadian, and this catastrophic event caused the upheaval a decade ago. The unplanned connection, the power struggle, the disruption to our bloodline. Now the fruit is in front of me."

Her hand extending as if to introduce my presence. "A blessing in disguise, a mere mockery whose roots have taken hold from our ancestors, or an offspring who's fated to overshadow the power of Asleria . . . which one are you?"

The event that caused the war a decade ago.

Her provoking smile faded. Her purple eyes dimming as she looked at me, ibinaba na niya ang kaniyang kamay. I subtly gaze at my hands below, twitching my fingers slightly but still no use.

"You're not capable of stopping it once it's released. You can't undo it. You are fated to bestow destruction." Mariing wika nito.

I nearly ran to their direction when Tristan tried to stand up, fortunately Saphire and the others were able to stop him before he could put himself in a more dangerous situation. Saphire was doing what she could to ease his bleeding, not even letting anyone pull the buried weapon in his body to prevent making matters worse.

"Saskia!"

I nearly tremble to my position. The surroundings lightened up in cerulean blue, the violet flames slowly dissipating from the lurking fluids hanging in the air as if it was a snake hunting cautiously, then all fell like splashes of water, killing the raging fire.
