I Almost Lost You

Chapter 18

"They're deep...he made me do it. He hurt me again, this time for an hour straight-"

I slammed the book closed and put it back on the shelf. I sat down trying to process what I just read. Like I didn't really understand what was happening at that moment. It could've been anything! For all we know it could've been words that were deep and how someone made her say them. I don't know. I just hope it isn't what I think.

A few moments later I head a car door slam. I stood up a looked out the window to see Lily. She walked to the door and I opened it.

"Hi Ashton! How'd you sleep?" She asked me placing her jacket on the hook.

"Amazing. Where did you go?" I asked her closing the door.

"Well I went to find a job. And I did! I start tomorrow!" She said excitedly.

"Wow! Where?" I asked.

"At Records, you know the music store?"

"Yea! I love that store!" I said hugging her. She hugged back.

For the rest of the day we just hung out. I went home to change too.

When I got back we continued to watch movies. We had built a fort and lemme just say...it was amazing.

Around ten I went home because I had to do chores and I had practice with the boys tomorrow.

Lily's POV

I went to bed at 12 after I finished my book. It was finally done and I'm gonna bring it to the publishing company on Friday.

"Again with that fucking noise" I mumbled as I slammed my alarm clock.

I got up and got ready for my first day of work. My job was to stock the shelves and just walk around checking things out. Seems pretty easy for $15 an hour. But hey, I'm not complaining, it pays well.

I got to work and it was just me, Rick (the owner) and this other worker, I think his name was Nate? Nick? One of the two. It was 11:06am and the big tide that is gonna come for the sale is at 12pm. We aren't opening our doors until then. Everything will be 75% off so a lot of people are gonna be here. Records is like the only music shop around here so it should be good. Based on what Rick told me, whenever they have this annual sale, the place is packed.

I've spent the past 45 minutes stocking shelves with records and CDs. It was now 11:58am and people were waiting outside. Two minutes later, it was time for the sale to start. I walked to the door and unlocked it. About 20 people were waiting outside. I walked back into the isles of records to finish the pile of records I was stocking.

"HEY! Excuse me?" I heard a high pitch bitch voice say from behind me. I turned around to find this disgustingly, whorish girl. She had on these tight, wicked short, jean shorts, with a very low cut shirt on. Her make up was way over done, and her fake tan was screaming for her to return to the carrot patch.

"Yes?" I said like I didn't give a shit. She scoffed.

"Do you have Fall Out Boy here?" She said twirling her hair. "Because I really love Fall Out Boy and I want their new album." She said leaning on her hip.

"Yea we do, it's in the 'F' section, you know, under the title 'Fall Out Boy'." I said pointing to the isle. I heard a laugh behind me. I smiled at that.

"Well fine then!" She yelled and stormed away. "Dumbass." I mumbled and turned the corner into the 'L' section. Right as I did I crashed into a tall figure and dropped the records. I looked up and saw the red-haired boy that I saw yesterday next door.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry!" He said bending down to help me pick up the records.

"Don't worry about it!" I said looking into his beautiful green eyes.
