I Almost Lost You

Chapter 12

"Thanks Ash." I said while I engulfed him into a hug.

"What time is it?" Calum asked.

"6:39" Ashton replied.

"Sunset should be coming soon...we should stay and watch it." Luke said looking at me, finishing it with a wink.

I blushed at the simple act. Ashton told me that him and Calum were not together, but they were best friends, like really close. They had been best "mates" since they were in their early teenage years. He also told me they were in a band called 5 Seconds of Summer. They were looking for another guitarist and told me to keep my eyes open for one.

"That would be really fun!" I pipped in. "Yea!" Calum and Ashton both said in unison. So we stayed.

"Wait! How far away is my house from here?" I asked quickly.

"Um probably 10 minutes, why?" Ashton replied.

"Can we please go for a quick drive there?" I asked with pleading eyes.

"Sure, let's go." He said to me. "You two stay here and hold down the fort. We'll be right back." He said talking to Calum and Luke. They nodded in response and we were off.

"Lily, can I ask...actually tell you something?" Ashton broke the silence in the car.

"What's up?" I said locking my phone, now that he's captured my attention.

He sighed and I could see him grip the steering wheel tighter. "Okay, please don't freak out when I say this, but I just wanna put it out there, just so you know." He started. I looked at his face and never looked away, wondering what the hell was bothering him. He pulled into my driveway and we both got out. I saw a smirk on his face when we stepped inside. He still never finished what he was saying.

"Can you help me find my camera? It's in the case." I asked.

"Sure, where would it be?" He asked

"Either in my room or in the den." I responded while walking up to my room. He walked into the den and started looking. I walked to my room and I found it on my desk.

"Ash! I found it!" I yelled. I saw him in the hallway, admiring the pictures.

"I took those." I said. He quickly tensed up and looked over at me. "Did I scare you?" I laughed.

"Yea a little bit." He laughed too. "So you took these huh?" He said leaning more towards them.

"Yea, I'm also a photographer..." I said while holding my camera.

"Ooooh, someone's got a professional camera!" He said laughing. I smirked and struck a pose. We both laughed as Ashton pretended to take pictures of me. "You look butiful daling! More fierce!" He said in an accent.

"Come here." I said while turning my camera on. Ashton walked over and stood next to me with a silliest face. I snapped the picture and we looked at it.

"We're so silly looking!" Ashton said laughing, which caused me to laugh.

"So what were you gonna tell me?" I asked him.

"Well, first I would like to say that I may be making a huge mistake, but then again, I might be making the best decision of my life." He said. I gave Ashton a really weird look.

"What are yo-" I was cut off by Ashton pushing me up against the wall and crashing his lips against mine.
