I Almost Lost You

Chapter 8

And I hated myself for it.

Within a few minutes the plane came to a complete stop at the gate. We stood up slowly and walked into the isle. We grabbed our bags and walked down the isle towards the front of the plane.

"Hurry up Ash!" I hear her yell from afar. I look up at her and she's almost to the front while I'm still in the back.

"Coming!" I yell back as I sprint towards her.

She smiled as I approached her. I smiled back.

"Thank you for flying with us, have a lovely day." Said the captain. We both nodded and said "You too."

"What baggage claim gate thingy are we?" She asked while wailing up the jet way.

"Uhh I think A, but it might be B. It says which flight the baggage is coming from on them." I replied

She nodded in response. When we entered the airport, I saw her face light up. I could tell she was happy. Happy to be here. We walked until we found out baggage claim thing. It was A. We walked over to the carousel and waited. After about 3 minutes, the bags came out. My bags were the first to come out. Her bags came out a few after mine. Once we got all out bags on one of those carts, we made our way through customs and out to the sidewalk.

One of the men outside called us a taxi. When the cab came up to us we opened the trunk and placed our bags in it. We hoped in the back and she told him the address. I had asked her before if she wanted me to come by her place and help her, she said yes. The car drove off towards her new home. I could see the nervousness in her eyes. I grabbed her hand and rubbed small circles with my thumb. She looked at our hands intertwined and them at me, with a smile. She bit her lip and kissed my cheek. I couldn't contain my smile. It was from ear to ear. My dimples were very visible and I started to blush.

"You have the cutest dimples!" She said poking them. "And the red in your cheeks really emphasizes them." She winked.

"Shut up!" I giggled. She started laughing. Her laugh was absolutely amazing.

I feel something inside of me and I don't know what it is. I think I like her... It's crazy to like her when I've only known her for almost a day. But honestly..I'm just really happy when I'm with her. I haven't been upset once since I've met her. I've never been this happy, since "it" happened.

When we pulled up beside the curb of her home she took a huge breath in and began to step out of the car. She reached into her bag to grab money for the fee. I ripped it from her grasp and shoved it down her shirt.

"What the hell Ashton?" She laughed.

"No. I'm paying love." I said stuffing the money down her shirt. I gave the cab driver my money as she walked around to the trunk and grabbed her bags. I walked around to grab mine after I paid.

We both thanked the driver for the ride and he sped off. We walked up the path to her new house. When we approached the front door, she froze.

"What's wrong love?" I asked putting my hand on her shoulder. She turned to look at me.

"I'm afraid. What if I don't like it?" she asked

"You will love it, I can guarantee it." I said as I grabbed her hand. She unlocked the door with her other. she slowly opened the door and gasped as if fully opened.

"I LOVE IT!" She said running in.

"I told you! I knew you would!" I yelled running after her.

It was a beautiful house. It was similar to mine, but still had it's differences. She ran all around the house checking it out. I just stayed in the living room, hoping to get a Grand Tour when she's finished putting it all together. After I had heard her running around the house, I heard her come down to the second level. She lives in a split level. So technically "upstairs." She came running towards me with her arms open. I opened mine and she jumped into my arms. I picked her up and swung her around in a circle. She was so happy. I was so happy.

Everything was perfect.
