TRIGGER WARNING - HOMOPHOBIA!!

The date was going well. They both ordered the same thing and both adored it. However, it is brought to a halt when the phone rings.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Mr Woodward? It's Deb." her voice crackles down the line with distinctive sounds of sobbing that puts Bill on edge.
"Oh. Hey Deb. What is it, I'm busy."
"It's Alice. She came to my house, a sobbing mess. Apparently she came out to her mom and she got kicked out."
"Oh My God! Sami has never been a great person but I never thought she would do that to her own Daughter. Where is Alice?"
Bill's date looks over but he signals to keep quiet.
"She's on my bed, just having a mental break down. Can you come here? My family isn't helping the situation with their homophobic comments. Alice needs you."
Bill sighs.
"Of course. I'll be there as soon as I can. Goodbye Deb."
"Bye Mr Wood-" Deb is cut off as Bill hangs up. He answers the questioning look.
"Sami kicked Alice out. I need to go pick her up from Deb's."
"Oh God. I'll come, or do you want to be alone with your daughter?"
"No, she trusts you. You accept her. Come on, let's pay the bill and leave."
Paul nods and, when the cheque is paid, they leave briskly.

Bill and Paul arrive at the townhouse, searching for Alice. They eventually find her sat in the attic bedroom, sobbing into a pillow with her girlfriend rubbing her back. Deb pokes her side softly and she looks up. Seeing her father, she runs to him and gives him a huge hug. A few minutes later, she pulls back and notices Paul. A smirk creeps across her face as Paul and Bill return to the car, with her in tow.
