"Um... Dad? Can I talk to you?"
"Sure thing, sweetie."
Bill moves over so his daughter can sit beside him on the sofa.
"So I think I might be gay."
"Oh."
Bill sits there, a little shocked as Alice continues.
"There's this girl at school, Deb. I kinda like her. She's Pansexual and, I was just wondering how you would feel if we started dating."
"Umm. Well, it's fine that you're a lesbian, I have nothing against that, but I don't know this Deb girl. Why doesn't she come over this weekend? Or you could go to hers?"
"Deb doesn't have a great home life. Her sister just moved out and her brother and parents kind of think that Deb is just trying to get attention, but she isn't. If we meet up, it has to be out or here.but not her's."
Bill nods and gives his daughter a squeeze.
"I love you, you know? Nothing will ever change that."
