The night of our little adventure had an unexpected ending for me.

We walk into the dorms, laughing, before I shush him, remembering that the others are still sleeping at this ungodly hour. Walking up the stairs slowly and quietly until we reach my floor, we hold back any other comments. I think about my next move for a second before I ditch those thoughts just as fast. Wrapping my arms around him, I thank him for this night and he squeezes me equally as tight. We part and he gives me one last wave before he heads up the stairs.

I walk into my room and search my keys only to not find them anywhere. Crap. I left them in the lighter jacket and forgot to take them with me before we left. Shit. What do I do now?

Annoyed, I stomp up one floor and knock on the wooden door. Luke opens immediately and gives me a questioning glance before the words just spill out of me, "I left my keys in my room."

"Shit."

"Yeah." A chuckle escapes him as I bang my head against the doorframe because one, this could have only happened to me out of all people and two, I am seriously tired.

"I just want to sleep." I whisper while resting my head on the wall next to his door and he walks out of his room and into the hallway with me.

"Where are you going?" I ask as I mindlessly follow him down and to the front desk.

"To get the teacher to open your door." He answers and knocks quickly on the door behind the front desk. We wait a good minute before I sigh and rub my temples.

"Nobody is opening. Let's just go."

"No, where else are you supposed to sleep tonight?"

In your room. The thought makes goosebumps rise on my skin and I shake my head and knock against the door one more time. Hard.

A grumpy old lady, which thank god is not one of my teachers, opens and rubs her eyes.

"Sorry to interrupt your sleep, but she locked herself out." Luke explains and she gives him a raised eyebrow, though still half asleep.

"And why would she do that at four o'clock in the morning?"

"I went to the bathroom and forgot my key." I lie quickly and she takes one last glance in my direction before asking me for my room number and handing me the spare key.

"I want that back tomorrow before class starts."

"Yes. Thank you." I say and she shoos Luke and me away in order to close the door with some mumbled profanities that I'm not sure if I want to understand at all.

That same night, I lay in bed and toss and turn while I can't get my thoughts to shut up and let me sleep. When I look at the clock I see that it is already 5 a.m and I have two more hours until I need to be ready for breakfast. I sigh and stare out of my huge window as I weigh out my options. I could either continue getting mad because I can't sleep or I could start and do something productive. The latter it shall be for me. I laugh at nothing in particular, still feeling somewhat high from being out with Luke and turn the bedside table lamp on, squinting my eyes at how bright it suddenly is. As soon as my eyes adjust to the familiar surroundings, I let out one last yawn and sit down at my desk. The blank sheet of paper is still very much ready to be drawn on and I take the pencil in my right hand, simply starting to draw a few lines. In the matter of minutes, I have the picture in my head and soon later on the paper as well.

Huh.

I stare at the engraved memory of Luke. You can't really tell that it's him in this sketch but I know that you will be able to conclude it once this is painted. My mind drifts off to a few hours ago and suddenly the thoughts that I was so happy to not hear anymore come back, one prominent one repeating itself over and over again.
