How could things have gone this wrong?

A 16th birthday was supposed to be the happiest day for most teens and their parents.

But not for the wrath family as they all heard Elizabeth's agony filled cries, and Cassondra-Melody yelling.

Meliodas watched Ban apprehend chandler, pulling out his gun with a blank face.

No mercy.

That was all that lingered in his heart, none was left after hearing his daughter yell and his wife on the floor screaming in tears.

And most definitely not after watching his son get shot in his place.

Removing the safety in a flash, not even asking a single question as he had Ban lift Chandler so he could shoot him.

Twice in the head and once in the heart- making sure he would not wake up.

"CHANDLER!" Catherine yelled as she watched the last person in her life get killed.

She ran towards them, tears in her eyes as she tugged on his lifeless body ordering the men of the Wrath organization to put him down.

But that's when she felt it.

An aura that felt so inhumane radiating from behind her.

Her body twitched in fear as she knew she was caught; slowly turning to see dull green eyes staring at her as if she was a worthless peon.

His eyes might as well have been pitched black and he'd be covered in markings as Meliodas looked scarier than a demon it's self.

"SOMEONE HELP MY BABY-!" Elizabeth sobbed out, clutching ace tightly who had a bullet wound in his abdomen.

Diane and Elaine tried to console Elizabeth, slowly moving the boys body into the house- King and Merlin following along so he could drive them to the hospital.

Meliodas grabbed Catherine by the neck, pulling out his gun so he could take the personal shot- not caring about whether or not she was a girl.

"Dad wait-!" Cassie paused, stepping in front of gun that was aimed below at Catherine who was still in tears but was still terrified of being shot.

"What?" Meliodas responded, darkly sending shivers down everyone's spine, including his own daughter.

"D-dad, I understand things are hectic but don't shoot her!" She answered, "I think we should hear her out- earlier I watched her try to stop the guy."

Meliodas still didn't see any reason to stop, removing the safety.

"And on top of that- I think ace likes her, you've always told me that you need to give people second chances, right.?!"

Meliodas furrowed his brows, he turned his head away, "ESCANOR, GET THIS GIRL OUT OF MY SIGHT." pointing the gun at Catherine's head.

The buff man nodded, hitting the back of Catherine's neck making her pass out.

The rest of the party was over, chaos had ensued and no one was in the mood to party after all of that.

Tucking his gun back into his waistband, Meliodas headed back inside- on his way to head to the hospital as well.

Slowly Harley paced himself over to Cassie, lightly caressing her hand, "Are you okay?" Even though he knew she had to be in distress.

"My 16th birthday party was supposed to be fun; I was supposed to be able to laugh and enjoy with my twin." Cassie whispered, clutching her dark red dress.
