Third POV

Today was a new day.

Not only was it a weekend was December so it meant only 24 days til the twins birthday.

"Woohoo! It's finally December!" Ace cheered as he headed downstairs.

When he reached the bottom step to the living room he noticed Meliodas and Elizabeth were shuffling decorations out.

Cassie was in the kitchen area, grabbing what looked like frosted sugar cookies.

"Morning Ace, you seem to be in a lively mood!" Elizabeth smiled as Meliodas turned to look at him.

"Yup! Only 24 days til my birthday!" He cheered.

"Correction. Our birthday." Cassie interjected.

"Yeah yeah, anyways I've been thinking-" Ace grinned.

"If it's about your birthday present then don't even mention it." Meliodas warned.

Ace furrowed his brows. "Aww man!"

"Well it was worth's shot." Elizabeth giggled.

Eventually Meliodas kissed Elizabeth, saying goodbye to the children.

He had work to get to.

"Does anyone wanna help me put up decorations?" The silverette questioned, as she held up a sparkly blue ornaments.

"Sorry mom, I kinda have to go shopping for a Christmas present for everyone else." Cassie apologized.

Elizabeth shook her head "Ace?"

Seeing as he had nothing else to do he might as well.

"I'll help."

As he began to pick up the garland.
.
.
.
Mid way into decorating, they heard a ding.

Ace turned to his phone seeing it was none other than Catherine.

"Oh who is it?" Elizabeth asked, not paying all her attention on him.

"Oh it's a friend of mine, Catherine." Ace answered looking at the message he sent her.

Over the course of him constantly trying to start a conversation and just many random actions led to somewhat of a friendship.

She hate to admit it but he was pretty like able.

"Ooh, potential love interest, perhaps?" Elizabeth teased

She watched as Ace's cheeks turned red.

"N-no!"

"Oh did I hear you stutter, and your cheeks turn red? Gasp, he's in love?" Elizabeth cheered.

As she went to go hug him.

He was embarrassed, as he felt his mom hold him close.

"Mommy-!"

He heard her laugh, obviously enjoying herself.

" ok ok, I'll stop now..."

As she went back to decorating.

He then opened the message from Catherine.

'Hey, happy December 1st, you excited for Christmas?'

He then began to text back.

'Of course, my birthday is literally on Christmas.'
.
.
.
Catherine was currently on her bed, reading over his message, playfully rolling her eyes.

'Oh is that so? Well then let me say happy birthday early. Happy birthday.'

Ace smiled, as he read her text.

'Thanks, that means a lot coming from you.'

Catherine felt her face heat up.

'Whatever, I'll see you at school, bye!'

'Yeah sure, Bye'

The conversation was over, leaving Catherine alone to her thoughts.

"Maybe I should get him a gift...?" She uttered in her head.

Even if she didn't want to admit it, Ace had been nice and patient with her and attitude.

And in a way it stood for something.

So it was decided, she was gonna get him something.

Just for good measures, nothing more, nothing less.

Back with Ace~

They were almost done decorating the main Christmas tree.

But decided to take a cookie break.

"Mmm, cookie!" Ace smiled, enjoying a tree shaped cookie.

" well you seem to be enjoying yourself, huh?" Elizabeth asked, as she frosting one for herself.

"Of course I am, Christmas is a time of love, and all of  my love is going towards food." Ace nodded.

Elizabeth raised her brow, heading towards him.

"Oh is that so...?"

She began to tickle his sides.

"So you have no more love for the person that raised you for sixteen years? Huh? Huh?"  She asked, clearly joking.

"Ahaha- yes I still love you ahaha." Ace laughed, as he side hugged his mom.

"Exactly, food has nothing on me." Elizabeth added, quite smug.

She walked back to her former area, pulling out her phone.

"What do you think I should get your father for Christmas?" She muttered, trying to think of something.

"That's hard- I mean he already has everything." Ace shrugged.

"Speaking of gifts, what's a good gift to give to a girl per say..?" Ace added, not letting on too much.

Elizabeth smiled "are you thinking of getting something for Catherine?"

"I've been thinking about it..." Ace nodded.

"Hmm well I'm not sure what she's exactly like but get her something that you know she'll cherish." Elizabeth suggested, placing her hand on her chin.

His head echoed with what she said.
.
.
"Something she'll cherish, huh..?"
