Third POV

She lit up the mini Christmas in her bedroom, as she headed back to her desk.

"What exactly should I get Ace...?" Catherine pondered.

"I want it to be a perfect gift..."

She then paused, thinking about what she just said.

"What am I saying?!" She frowned, "I shouldn't get anything perfect for him!"

See, her ideology or current state of mind was that she'd just be acquaintances with Ace Wrath, she couldn't like him fully, his family, especially Meliodas.

Not yet, not until she got some sort of closure.

She then heard knocking, feeling whoever it was to come in.

"Hello, Miss I've made some breakfast, care to come downstairs?" Chandler, the main servant in the household spoke.

"Mhm, I'll be there soon." Catherine sighed, rubbing her temple.

Chandler came in closer, placing a hand on her head brushing her black shoulder-length hair down.

"Something wrong, my dear?"

She narrowed her eyes, yet her golden colored eyes still sparkled.

"I need to think of a gift to get someone- yet I can't get over their parents or at least one of them anyway."

"And who are their parents?" Chandler questioned.

"The supposed and new head of the archangels mafia."

His eyes snapped open, as a grin began to form.

"And you have made friends with one of their offsprings?"

She looked up at him, feeling a wave of what she'd like to call a scheming aura.

"Now, do you still want revenge for your father's death..?"

She nodded, "more than anything."

The Next Day

Monday had already arrived, one by one fancy cars pulled up, all holding children.

So ready for winter breaks down the holidays or happy to sport their new winter gear.

Including the wrath family.

They filed out the car one by one, Cassie and Ace being the first ones while Aaron was the last one.

Just before they dispersed into their separate ways for class later meeting for lunch cassie stopped them all.

"Wait, here are your Christmas gifts." She grinned, handing over several red and green bags.

With white confetti at the top, the bag had a small gift that was meaning full in its own way.

For example, as a Christmas gift, Cassie got Violet dangly amethyst earring since it was her favorite color.

"Thanks, Cassie!" The rest smiled.

She nodded, as they all split apart.

Sitting in his chair, being one of the students who weren't exactly tuning into what the teacher had to say.

Eventually, they broke out into chosen pairs, with him choosing to be worth the Sloth kids.

"E..CE...ACE!" Harley called, snapping his best friend out of some sort of trance.

"Huh..?" He turned to face violet and Harley.

"You've been out of it a while now, you ok?" Violet questioned with a hint of concern.

"Yeah, I'm good- just wondering what to get someone for Christmas." He shrugged, tilting his head in boredom.

"Well you can think about that later, besides Christmas isn't until a good 3 weeks or so." Harley reminded.

Ace nodded," speaking of gifts, what are you planning on getting Cassie for Christmas?"

Harley looked over at his sister, then back at Ace.

"I'm not sure, I just so happy to be lucky in the sister department to know that my girlfriend is best friends with my sister."

Violet rolled her eyes, "you did get lucky- but don't think I'm giving you my gift idea."

"We'll see." Harley snickered before they all turned back to work.

Soon lunchtime arrived, and as usual ace waited to get out of the lunch line.

He then noticed her, grabbing a small cup of strawberries.

"Hey!" He grinned, a smile plastered onto his face.

"Oh, Ace- hey how are you doing?" Catherine jumper a bit, due to the sudden voice.

"I'm better now that I've spotted you, now cmon so we can go sit." He answered as she turned fully to face him.

She playfully rolled her eyes, as they headed to their usual lunch table.

Taking a seat they began to eat, chatting about random topics, and what they planned to do over winter break.

It was normal enough, all though several things ran through Catherine's mind.

"Something wrong?" He asked, raising a brow.

She was quiet for a bit, looking anywhere but him before responding.

"Y'know how you said that your birthday is this month?"

He nodded, not sure what she was leading onto.

"I was wondering if it's ok if I were to attend..?"

She finally looked up at him, watching him throw his head back in laughter, making her a bit embarrassed and downright confused.

"You don't even have to ask!" He smiled, "you're already on the guestlist anyway."

"R-really? Why?" She questioned.

He narrowed his eyes, his smirk never leaving.

"Why? Cause your my friend of course!"

She paused, her mind echoing on the words 'you're my friend'.

"I am huh, probably not after what I'm gonna do.." she thought before they went back to talking normally.
