Detective Stamos

"Okay so crumpled police cars is probably Isa but he's been moody lately I think he's becoming a teenager. We're really all in all doing well. Would you like to maybe find out who this lady belongs to?  We think she knows us and she has amnesia," Basil is not at all being helpful that said he's not usually but, given I almost 80% blame his kids for the current police stand off going on, I'm not at all pleased.

"Hi Helen," I say, as she shakes my arm. She and Basil came I'm just going to assume they've lost all their kids.

"See? He knows who I am----he and the kids all act like they don't know who I am and I think it's one of their elaborate pranks, but it's been all day and they don't cooperate that long it may be some sort of spell and where is my dad?" Helen asks me.

"Your kidnapper is off probably making my life hell I don't know he said he was going to find food which probably means commit murder. I have a police stand off going on which I am walking you to because I'm sure it involves one of our kids---Isa already destroyed every squad car we have and several private vehicles and half of my SWAT team is loosing their minds actively ----DEAN QUIT WALKING AWAY FROM ME," the SWAT team in question is trying to hold off our gunman who is-----fighting with Sol??? In the middle of the city park?? Okay great. Just great.

"Who?? Me??" Dean, shirtless of course, wearing a silk robe and swim trunks, a cocktail in one hand.

"Stop it---I know you're fucking with their heads---look your father is here to make you stop," this is so bad.

"He's probably not," Basil says, not overly concerned.

"What the hell," I leave Basil to stop Dean from whatever he's doing. The majority of the SWAT team who haven't been driven mad are surrounding Sol and our lone gunman, who is now just armed with a shield, in the middle of the city park.

Sol is fully—activated---light is burning from beneath his skin, cracks running through it and light too brilliant to look at pouring out. his eyes are pitched black pits and I can't tell if he's even aware we're all here.

Axel is full of bullets, upon closer inspection. At some point we hit him. He's bloodied, but not at all broken. Instead he's quite agilely attacking Sol. The shield is able to land blows and block blows of sound or light energy that Sol deals, but they're still just scrabbling like a couple of teenagers. One apparently very durable teenager, and who has the power of the sun beneath his skin. But teenagers.

Which is an improvement on Axel actually shooting at police and murdering teenagers. However we need to break them up. Now. Helen joins me in watching just beyond the police line.

The snipers take a couple of shots at Axel but he blocks one with the shield then just rolls away from another. Sol tries to take that opportunity to fry him but Axel succeeds in blocking that with the shield as well.

"Fuck---Helen we're gonna need a lot of people to forget they saw him glowing and shit," I sigh, deeply. What the fuck are we gonna do? "After---after it's over. Thank you."

"Huh, I wonder why he isn't melting the shield?" Basil, eating something, and standing next to me, mildly interested.

"Why aren't you doing something??" I ask, fully annoyed.

"I want to see what happens," he says, continuing to eat what looks like a bag of peanuts which he very nearly offers me. Then he sees my face. "What? It's not like Sol's gonna get hurt."

"The other child could get hurt I am asking you nicely to stop them," I growl.

"Maybe he has a good reason," Basil says, shrugging, "I'm not striking them with lightening when I don't even know what's going on."

"We do know what is going on----they are trying to kill each other!" I growl.

"No, we don't---Dean come---Dean what's going on?" Basil asks, making his son slink closer.

"Um----I don't know," Dean says, not like he doesn't know but like he doesn't want to say.

"Who's winning? A box of gummy worms says that Sol just fries his head off," Luke says, shouldering past me to lean over his brother's shoulder to video this. He's laughing.

"What are you doing here?" there's a suspicious number of people here that I know just placidly watching.

"Oh, a few hours ago Luna texted and asked if I could send sea snakes to strangle any cops that interfered with some revenge she and the scrappy kid are taking so clearly I said yes," Luke, still fully amused and videoing the boys fighting and getting shot at.

"You did what???" I growl.

"So you admit to knowing them? Do you not know who I am?" Helen asks him.

"No, who are you?" he asks, deadpan, frowning a little.

"Your sister."

"Look out, she also thinks she's my wife," Basil says.

"Lucas how could you------Basil I am begging you to break them up," I sigh.

"No, I don't electrocute my kids that's a rule, it's negotiable though if Thyme is being a dick, but I won't break it for Sol. Lisa gave birth to him painfully. She likes him. She didn't even give birth to Thyme and she cried after I had to electrocute him," Basil reasons, not concerned.

"Luke, call of whatever the fuck monsters you sent these cops are doing their job—,"

"Oh I don't care," Luke says, passively.

"Who do you think gave birth to Thyme?" Helen asks, flatly.

"My husband," Basil says. On that note, they are undoubtedly messing with her.

"Stop talking to them," I'm two seconds from asking her to spell them into helping me, but I don't actually trust her is the problem.

"Stop---they have to stop shooting him he doesn't know what he's doing," the dude who found the dead kid says, trying to move past us, "Let me go grab him. I don't care if he hurts me. Just tell them to stop firing on him he's sixteen years old for the sake of whatever gods you believe in."

"Hey Omar," Dean who is being held by the back of the neck by his dad, because he keeps walking away from us.

"Sir, he's been shooting at police, also bullets aren't doing a lot of good," I say, helping keep him back.

"Oh---oh so you want him to win? Fuck, I may have to change sides, okay Detective you got it, no more snakes," Luke says, very helpfully.

"Please let me try to talk to him," the man, Omar yes that was his name, tries to move past me again.

"He's past talking," I sigh, heavily, "I'm sorry. I can't let you go over there it isn't safe."

"I'm getting a megaphone and spelling everyone into stopping doing what they're doing that would work wouldn't it?" Helen tries to walk away but Basil catches her.

"I was gonna let her," I say.

"I don't know who you think she is, but, Detective, I don't think she's safe to be out," Basil says, sympathetically.

"Did something really happen to you? You know who I am, right?" I ask. This fucking day.

"Yes of course I do, you un-kidnapped me, Detective," Basil says, but he doesn't look at me. Did she spell them and mess with their heads and that's why they're acting like this? I don't even care.

"Dean, tell me right now what's going on?"

"I don't know, why would I know?"

"Were you or were you not involved?"

"Just because I was involved does not mean I understood what was going on, what we were doing, and why we were doing what we were doing  nor does it mean at all I remember what happened. Also, I think I died yesterday, or I did acid. I don't know which."

"Whatever," I sigh, rubbing my face. The boys are still fighting. Neither seems to be growing weaker, though Axel is bleeding more and more from his bullet wounds. Surely this will kill him?
