Chapter 16

Nakatulala ako habang nakasakay sa taxi papuntang apartment na tutuluyan ko for a month. I still have enough money good for my three months para sa pangkain ko and other supplies. I sighed deep and closed my eyes. I need to freshen my mind to avoid this stress I'm feeling.

"Ma'am nandito na po tayo."

I opened my eyes and looked out of the window. Nagbayad ako sa driver at sinimulang dalhin lahat ng bagahe ko sa loob ng tinutulyan kong apartment. Pagkabukas ko palang ng kwarto nakita ko si Leri na nakadapa sa sahig and like just like I always saw her to do, she's painting again. Her attention cocked to mine and smiled at me.

"Staying for month?"

She asked and got up while fixing her brush that she is holding awhile ago with water.

"Yeah."

Mahina kong sabi.

"I heard the news and I feel sorry for that girl. "

Napaupo ako sa kama ko at nilagay sa gilid lahat ng bagahe ko. Hindi ako umimik sa kanya. I'm staring at her while she's painting again.

"Bored again?"

I asked, changing the topic.

"Yeah you can say that. My imagination is so wild and all I can do is to draw or paint them all. "

Ngumiti ito ng pilit sa akin at bumalik sa pagpipinta nito. Hinubad ko ang sapatos ko ng tumingin ito saken.

"New shoes huh! Di ko alam na bumibili ka ng sapatos. Sabi mo pa saken di mo papalitan ang regalo ng mom mo?"

Ngumiti ako mg kaonti ng may malala ako. Napahawak ako sa tiyan ko ng makaramdam ako ng gutom.

"So nakakain ka na? Want to grab some lunch with me?"

Tumayo ito at ngumiti sakin ng matamis.

"Great! I was waiting for you to asked me. I didn't eat breakfast just apple so let's go! I'm hungry."

Natawa ako dahil sa sinabi niya. Lumabas kami ng apartment at nakasalubong namin ang landlady.

"Oh Linzey! "

Ngumiti ako dito at nagmano. She's mid 40's kaya matanda na ito pero parang teenager lang ito dahil sa kolorite niya sa mukha. She looks strict pero mabait ito sa amin.

"Hello po nay Maring."

"Saan kayo pupunta? Umuwi kayo ng maaga ah?"

Natawa kami ni Leri dahil sa sinabi niya. That's what I like about nay Maring, she's like our second mother to us.

"Kakain lang kami sa labas nay Maring."

Paalam ni Leri.

"O siya sige, baka mas lalo kayong gutomin pag tumagal kayo."

Lumabas kami ni Leri dala dala ang shoulder bag nito. I find it weird because she always bring her shoulder bag even if na malapit lang naman ang pinupuntahan namin. Hindi ko na lang iyon pinansin at tiningnan ang phone ko ng maramdaman ko itong magvibrate and when I opened the screen I felt scared again of what I saw.

"Linzey viral ngayon ang school niyo oh!"

I off my phone because of my mixed feeling and faced her while she's busy watching the viral news about our school. I know the dean's won't let this news spread so no worries if that will erase by the next other day or tomorrow.

"Saan pala tayo kakain?" I asked raising my brows. She let out a smirk and looked at me with excitement written in her face.

"I know a place where we can eat! Mura na nga swak pa!"
