MASON

I'm writing a report when my phone starts to ring. I reach for my phone and smile when I see that Ebony is calling me.

"Mason It's happening again...Jensy" The smile vanishes from my face and I stand up abruptly. Immediately I felt like the whole burden of the world was placed onto my shoulders. " Are you hurt? Where are you?" I let all my questions tumble out quickly. " We are at Lily's. I know it sounds odd, but I think she genuinely being nice." Ebony responded. She trusted people entirely too much. She gave this world too much credit.

" Alright, I'm coming right now. We have to take the new letter to the Police."

EBONY

The doorbell rings as I get off the phone. Lily looks at me wearily before going to get the door. When she opens the door a vaguely familiar face stands there. A small smile playing on their lips. Ugh, it was Mason's fucking ex-wife Ashely. Her smile became bigger when she saw me. It was almost mocking, or was I tripping? Also, this bitches blonde hair was now dyed a shiny jet black. I felt a lot self-conscious around her. Her hair was pretty and even if I wanted to deny that she was pretty it would only make me look like a fool. At least to myself. Because it was a lie.

She strutted into Lily's condo. A blue designer bag that matched her shoes and nails Practically draped her slender arms. I Almost started to grumble but caught myself. I lounged on Lily's couch my feet tucked underneath me. Zena on the carpet in front of me. I plaited her hair her curls were looser than mine so I didn't need to tighten my hold too much. She used her phone as a mirror and hugged me as thank you.

"Lilly I want to talk to you in private." Ashley was pretty, but her nasal voice was not it. I winced when her voice pierced my ears. She smiled a little at me but it didn't touch her eyes. I hear hushed whispers from Ashely and Lily. It sounded kind of important. My inquisitiveness was getting the best of me so I focused my hearing and shushed Zena. I heard Ashely's voice "good...you can't...not gonna stop... " This was Lily's voice, I only heard little snippets of the conversation. " Scared... starting to like...sorry-" Lily seems to not have finished her sentence because her whispers stop abruptly and Ashely stomps around the corner. Zena and I act like we were never listening.

Ashely looks at me suspiciously. The doorbell rings and she turns to get it. Saved by the bell. She would have scrutinized me until I fessed up. I smiled when Ashley opened the door because there stood my man in all of his ruffled and sexy glory. A five o'clock shadow adorned his chiseled jaw. Ashley immediately straightened her back and puffed out her chest. Accentuating her chest area. Not that she really had any anyway. Mason Strood around her like she wasn't standing there. Completely ignoring her entire presence.

He headed right towards Zena and a bright smile made its way on his face and it made me feel better. Zena ran to him jumping just in time for Mason to catch her. Cute. Mason sets Zena down and comes over to me a sexy smile playing on his lips. He placed a sweet kiss on my lips and pulled me up from the couch.  I caught a glimpse of Ashely over his shoulder. I freeze at the deadly look on her face. What the-. " Wheres the letter babe? We have to go to the police now." I nodded and watched as Mason reached for my purse. Lily looked at me anxiously. What the hell was her problem?

Mason held my hand and we walked to the door. Zena following behind.

Time-lapse: 30 mins

Mason skirted to a stop in the police station parking lot. He silently grabbed my purse and went to the other side to open the door for me. Zena walked closely behind us. A sense of deja vu crashed into me. I started to get anxious and scared. The outcome of me having a panic attack the last time I was here. When we got to the counter I did all the talking but this time we were able to give them viable evidence. I told them about Jensy and what she had done to me last year. Trying to end my life, but now she was in jail/psychiatric office. Or where ever she was she wasn't free-roaming the streets. Or so we thought. I showed them the letter and Jensys name.

The police officer looks a little confused. "So we have our person. Jensy. I'll put this with the evidence. And you say Jensy is supposedly supposed to be in jail or some kind of rehab?" I nodded . But something didn't make sense to me. Jensy's handwriting seamed to have greatly changed. Jensy wrote with swirls and loopy loops. She wrote her letters wispily, but these letters were not wispy. They were bold and scratchy. Not Jensy. I think. Or maybe she purposeful did this because she knows the way I think. Why did she write her name if she wanted to remain anonymous?

The wheels in my mind were turning at a fast rate. "We can locate the specific rehab that Jensy should be at and we will inform you if she has gotten loose or if she is there. But I highly doubt that she has gotten out, Or else we would know." I nodded again silently. Zena ran ahead of us towards the car. I waddled after her Mason hot on my heels. Doing everything in his power to protect me. "So now we have to stay at your sister's house until we can get feedback about Jensy." Mason looked at me sluggish. His eyes kind of drooping.

"You tired?" I asked him remorsefully. He nodded. "Alright, I'll drive!" As I said that Zena opens the door for me to sit in the driver's side. I have to adjust the chair a little because my baby bump was getting unbelievably larger. Mason sits in the passenger seat and nods of to sleep.
