It's been a whole week since I first started working at my targets law firm. The work I was hired to do was mainly helping out the firm and apparently Nathan Vanderbilt's errands.

Spending only a few hours at the actual firm because he was giving me so many things to do. Confused as to why he didn't ask his own secretary to do these chores, but I let it go not wanting to get into a heated conversation with him again. Especially in front of the entire floor. I was desperate to show my worth wanting to do my best to prove myself and get closer to them for the next few weeks.

I was upset with myself for not learning more about Nathan this past week. Feeling like I was wasting precious time that I could have been doing something productive for my actual job. Julian has been texting and calling me on behalf of our boss to see where I am at with my plan to murder Nathan Vanderbilt.

The only things I have figured out about him was that he spends most of his time in his office and doesn't seem to have any sort of social life. He doesn't leave until around one or two in the morning. Mr. Vanderbilt is always the last one to leave and the first one to arrive. Most nights we were the only ones left in the firm having to stay trying to finish everyone's filing. I knew the best opportunity for me to kill him would be during the late hours as he worked when no one was around.

But I needed to study him more. I could not risk the police thinking's this was a hitman because of his status.

Nathan Vanderbilt is the only man I have killed that was as powerful and rich as my boss. All of my other targets have been from others who needed their fathers, abusive husbands, or just people they wanted out of the way. It was important that I was careful with this target because of who he was.

It was now Monday morning exactly a week since I started. I was one of the first people here wanting to get a head start on the day. I walked past Riley's desk noticing her knickknacks and photographs were gone. Only the computer and some files remained. I was placing my things on my desk when Nathan came out of his office.

He wore his usual expensive dark fitted suit ignoring the unprofessional thoughts going through my mind as Mr. Vanderbilt spoke. "You are my new secretary. I expect you to use this desk from now on." He stated making me frown almost spitting out my coffee. "What? What happened to Riley?" I asked failing to hide my confusion motioning to her empty desk.

"I fired her. I've seen better progress in you doing my filing and errands than she has the years she's been working for me." He explained with zero emotion. I studied his cold features trying to hide any hint of emotion before looking away slightly intimidated by him.

"O-Oh. Okay." I replied hesitantly as I picked up my things to move desks. "Why don't you have any photos if your family?" Nathan asked catching me off guard as I walked past him to sit at my new desk. Because I don't have one.

"I haven't had the chance to with all the things I've been having to do for you." I replied making him look away from me for a moment. I took the time to memorize his features and the color of his dark blue eyes. "It's required. It shows our clients that we are normal everyday people." He said ignoring my remark as he began to walk away.

"Oh. Alright." I repeated softly, worried knowing I only had a few photos of my family. "I need these scanned into my computer by lunch." Nathan said as he came back with a large stack of files making my lips part looking at the time.

"That's only three hours." I expressed as he shoved his hands in his pockets. "Then you should get working." He replied walking away making me let out an aggravated groan collapsing into my chair. I knew scanning all of these different documents for his new cases would usually take me most of the day.
