"What you've done is far worse than a measly lawyer who potentially knows too much about me. I need to make an example of you. You understand." Mikhail continued. My head shot to the side as I saw my boss's men began stalking towards us slowly. Grabbing and pulling Nathan's hand through the crowds to leave making the men bolt after us.

"Before you go I gotta know one thing." My boss yelled over the crowds. I reluctantly stopped in place not turning around knowing we weren't going to get out of here this easily.

"Did you really think putting me behind bars would keep you safe?" He began casually as I turned back around. Mikhail began walking casually towards us. "You have no idea how deep this goes, Genevieve. There are men I work amongst who are much worse than me. Who won't hesitate to come after you and kill everyone you've ever spoken to." Mikhail explained walking up to us. "I've been far too patient with you."

He motioned over at his other security guards making my lips part snapping my attention away from Mikhail. They all rushed down the stairs and left their doorways and hallways circling us. Stumbling backwards wanting to run but I knew there was no use.

"I don't blame you. I blame myself. It had been apparent to me for some time that you had... succumbed to your feelings for him. I should've known that a woman wouldn't have been able to complete the task. I should have just kept you on your assignments against cheating husbands. You clearly weren't ready for a mission like this. I expected too much of you. ." He finished as I lost count on all of the men pushing through the crowds. People watched us and glared at Mikhail's mens lack of manners.

Grabbing Nathan's hand turning around to finish running towards the door. The doors quickly shut by his men making me stumble. "What are you doing? You said they were just here for protection." Jay, Nathan's father said stepping away from his confused wife. Feeling two of his men come up beside me roughly pulling each of my arms behind my back.

I remained calm keeping my head held high burning holes into Mikhail. Nathan quickly started trying to get them off of me making others run up to him. "Get off! Gen!" Nathan beamed as they pulled him away from me. He struggled to pull away and fight back as I stood calmly not resisting trying to ignore Nathan not wanting him to distract me.

"You mean he just used you not caring about you or anyone else here?" I asked sarcastically as everyone around us starred wide eyed. "I'm shocked." I finished through a fake gasp. Valerie frowned as our eyes met making me look away in shame. My boss walked up to me as the men held me with a death grip keeping me still.

Nathan's family security rushed towards us as the music abruptly stopped and people spread away from us. He didn't stop until he was inches from my face making me slowly fill with fear for what he was going to do. Clearly not afraid of making a scene with so many witnesses. Nathan relaxed beginning to give up on being let go.

"You're never going to see that daughter of yours again." He growled under his breath before stepping away to point a gun at my forehead. People gasped and screamed as I tensed trying not to give him the satisfaction of seeing me afraid. My breath hitched as I stood straighter.

A few of his men shot at Nathan's security. Everyone screamed stumbling back in confusion who was around us. Most people were too shocked to move trying to come to terms with what was happening. I looked around at everyone's parted lips in fear and shock. "Get out!" Mikhail roared over the quiet ballroom.

He lifted his gun above my head and shot into the ceiling making me jump out of my skin. My heart raced and everyone run out the doors in fear including Nathan's parents. Tripping and pushing over others, turning over tables and chairs as they all left in a hurry. The entire estate was emptied within seconds as we never tore our eyes away from each other. He continued to point his glock at me until I heard Nathan yell.
