(Y/N) POV
I looked in my wardrobe as I contemplated what to wear.
Nancy is coming with us, so maybe something casual?
I settled on a simple outfit, a nicer shirt with some jeans.
Think about it, I don't think Caroline has any nicer clothes, just normal ones.
"I'll be fine then," I remind myself as I start feeling awkward. We already live in the same house, and we've never had dinner outside of the house yet.
I leave my room to see Nancy on the couch
"What's up?" I ask as she looks at me. I noticed she had her hair done, her normally frizzy brown hair was all smooth and nice.
"Jee, you look nice," I say as she smiles and giggles
"Mommy did it for me," she says I smile
"So how long do you think we will be?" I ask as she looks confused
"When do you think your mom will be ready," I restate as she thinks.
"She said that she'd be done soon," Nancy says as I nod.
I sit down on the couch with her as I wait.
Finally, after 10 minutes, I hear footsteps from the hall.
"I'm ready," Caroline says quietly as I look. She looked stunning. I could tell she put on some makeup, but not too much though which is nice. Her hair was done similar to Nancy's and her outfit was casual
"Sorry, I forgot to buy you nice clothes," I say as she blushes
"Is this not good?" She asks a little sad
"No, that's not what I meant, you look great, but I'm sure you would have wanted us to look a bit fancier," I say as she smiles a bit
"I'm fine as is, you don't need something nice to have a good night," she says I nod and chuckle
"True that, true that," I agreed
"Well, let's get going," I say as we all head to my car.
Within the next hour, we were in a fancy dinner place. Everyone was dressed nicely put us...and they all had no children with them
"I feel like an outlier," Caroline says
"And I quote, you don't need fancy for a good night," I say teasing her as she blushes.
"Table for 3 please," I say to the waiter as he leads us to our table.
The rest was pretty normal. Order food....eat the food, order dessert....eat the desert.
"Wow...I'm full," Nancy says as she slumps in her spot.
"You still have some food left," Caroline says as Nancy looks at her
"I can't eat anymore," she pleads as I laugh
"I'll take some," I say as I snatch one of her chicken fingers
