(Y/N) POV
I yawn as I sit back on the couch.
Another long day done
God, I forgot how much I hate paperwork...it's literally the worst.
And doing other people's paperwork...10x worse than that.
I hear a knock on the door as I debated just not answering it...I just wanted to sit on the couch.
"(Y/N), can you answer the door. I'm busy," Caroline says from the kitchen.
"Ok," I say sadly. It's probably some salesperson
I get up and answer the door.
"Oh, hello," I say as I'm face to face with my in-laws
"Nice to see you again," Sam says as I naturally smile.
"Good to see you two too, what brings you here," I ask as Laila laughs
"You don't remember when we said we were gonna drop by when you were at the hospital?" She responds.
"Can't say I do," mutter trying to remember
"Maybe he was still asleep? We had to leave when Sandy appeared," they say
"Ohhhh, yeah, I woke up just after you two left," I say as I invite them in.
They looked at the walls of my house with sad eyes...remembering all of our good memories here...remembering her.
"Is Caroline here? We met at the hospital...what a pretty girl she is," Laila says smiling as I blush
"She's in the kitchen," I admit as Laila lights up.
"I hear she makes a good dish," she mumbles as she forces herself past me and into the kitchen.
Sam laughs at his wife's action and he and I converse at the couch.
"This place looks a lot more lively since the last time we were here," he says looking around
"Yeah...it's gotten a lot better in the past few months," I admit as I hear faint footsteps.
I turn and sure enough, Nancy is looking at Sam weirdly.
I look at Sam and realize...he's in her spot
"You better move old man...that's Nancy's spot," I laugh as he struggles to move
"Hi there young one," he says as Nancy remembers them
"Your the guy who was at the hospital before the mean woman came," she says as he laughs
"That would be me," he says as she smiles and looks at me
"I like him," she says plainly.
"He's not bad for a fossil eh?" I tease him as he laughs
We had a good night, it was a lot of fun.
I formally introduced them to Caroline and Nancy.
They seemed to get along with her very well all things considered.
Tonight was the first time the dinner table was full in a long long time.
