***Dweight’s POV***
It took ages of trying to get hold of Kelly and now she goes and cuts the link herself.
‘Damnit!’ I shout at no one in particular and run my hand through my hair in frustration.
I walked back in to see the receptionist sit on the floor with her knees to her chest, clutching her head and sobbing.
‘What’s your name?’ She sniffed and looked up at me -her mascara and eye liner running down her cheeks-.
‘Sonja…’ She choked out and I nodded helping her up.
‘Sonja who is your Alpha.’ Her eyes widened and I knew she was a young wolf. She could obviously not scent another wolf which only meant she was inexperienced.
‘Alpha Giovanni.’ She swallowed loudly and swiped at her eyes with her shaking hands all the while darting looks at the office where the dead doctor was.
‘Call him and tell him what happened here. Tell him Alpha Dweight’s mate was taken by Keegan. He’ll know what’s going on.’ She nodded and fumbled for her phone in her handbag so I left her to it and walked out just as a car pulled into the parking lot.
‘It’s about time!’ I snapped at Liam and he scowled at me slamming the door.
‘Thank you for leaving your mate and rushing right over Liam and thank you for setting up every available wolf to search for something that we don’t even know.’ I mentally slapped myself for not informing them what they were searching for.
‘Keegan took Kelly.’ The snarky look wiped right off of his face and it was replaced by horror.
I didn’t blame him. I think that look was permanently etched into my face.
‘I didn’t know…I’m sorry-’
‘Forget about it. She’s alive and she said she was making a run for it but I need your help. Where’s the nearest Burger King?’ I barely said the words and he was already piling into the car so I followed suit.
‘Hold on.’ Was all he snapped before we peeled down the road possibly leaving half of the treat behind.
‘There’s only one Burger King in this area.’ My heart started hammering in my chest and I just hoped we could find her in time. The few silent minutes in the car felt like hours but we finally pulled up to the fast food chain and I immediately spotted a van in the parking lot with two men arguing outside of it.
‘Stop the car!’ My voice was that of my wolf and the second he stopped I was out of the door and I could hear my clothes ripping as my wolf took over and within a blink I was on all fours charging at the two werewolves who smelled like my mate.
‘Oh shit!’ One shouted and jumped into the van whilst the other jumped out of my way but I barrelled right into the van after the first one with a buzz cut and immediately cornered him.
‘Where is she!?’ I snarled through the open link loud enough to bring him to his knees clutching his head. He howled out in pain which seemed to piss me off even more and I snapped my teeth in agitation.
‘WHERE IS SHE!?’ I snarled again taking a snap at his trousers and shook my head enjoying the sound of material ripping.
‘I don’t know man! She was here a few minutes ago and-’ I heard it before I felt the sting and I tried to shake it off but another shot was fired striking me in the shoulder. I turned to see the trigger happy asshole with his gun pointed at me start grinning but it wiped off of his face as Liam knocked him off of his feet. I turned back to the pup but the back door was open and the pup was running down the street with his ass bare to the world.
‘Kelly!’ I tried her link but it was silent
‘Kelly damnit where are you!’ Suddenly there was a groan and a feeling of weakness washed over me just strong enough to tell me where she was. I bolted out of the door and raced through the parking lot, through an ally and then I spotted her. She was still fully clothed and seemingly unharmed lying on a patch of grass until I came close enough to smell it.
