 ***Dweight's POV***

‘That water has been running for ages now.’ I grumbled at Hillary and she sighed shaking her head.

‘She looked pretty upset so I’d give her a few more minutes.’ I looked over at her and scowled. She had gardening gloves on, mashing the wolf’s bane into a paste, adding more and repeating the process.

‘I want to remove her mark Hillary, not kill her.’ I growled and she put the pestle down before waving a gloved finger at me.

‘Don’t you growl at me Dweight. I love that girl as much as you do and I’d never do anything to hurt her.’ I sighed running a hand through my hair.

‘She must be done by now.’ I knocked on the door.

‘Kelly, it’s me, Dweight.’ No answer so I knocked harder.

‘Kelly?’ No answer. I tried to open the door but it was locked.

Hillary was at my side in an instant and she tried knocking as well without reply.

‘How long has she been in there?’ I snarled taking a few steps away from the door.

‘About half an hour.’ She mumbled

‘Step away from the door Hillary.’ She quickly moved away and I charged smashing the lock and the door slammed against the wall on the other side. Both of us charged in but the room was misty from the running hot water so we couldn’t see anything. I fanned my hand through the mist, checking in the shower, on the floor and walked through toward the back wall. I stubbed my toe hard enough on something to hear something snap and I cursed out loud.

‘What happened?’ Hillary fanned her way over to me and I had to sit on the side of the bath holding my foot.

‘I broke my toe.’ I snapped at her and she was about to have a go at me when we both looked down at the object. It was the shutters from the bathroom window and we both looked up as the mist cleared. The window was pushed closed and the shutters were removed. My heart sank and it felt like panic turned me inside out and washed away any thoughts I had.

‘Oh my God…’ Hillary’s voice shook and I was out of the door within a blink of an eye.

The next thing I knew, I was in my wolf form running toward the border when a voice cut into me like a knife through butter.

‘Kelly’s missing.’ It was a Pack announcement and before I knew it I skidded to a halt and howled, my Pack joining in and soon it sounded like a chorus from a painful song.

I just stood there panting not sure where to go from here. Deep inside of me there was a voice that said I told you so. I couldn’t lose her now.

Think brain think! I tried to force myself to take in my surroundings.

I was near the border where I was supposed to meet Giovanni…That’s it! Giovanni!

‘Van!’ I barked through the Pack link.

‘I’m here. I heard she’s missing. Where are you?’ I ran into the clearing spotting him and about 20 of his wolves waiting patiently.

‘I’m here. She’s gone after Bonny herself.’ I choked out the latter

‘That’s a tough mate you have Alpha.’ A wolf said from the other Pack and a few wolves muttered their agreement.

‘Daniel doesn’t seem like the type to like tough women.’ Giovanni snapped and all of the wolves quietened down taking in his words.

‘If he so much as touches her, I’ll rip his heart out.’
