***Dweight's POV***
As I slowly neared Kelly's prone form, my heart in my throat, a large weight barrelled into me knocking me off of my feet and into the side of a building. Staggering to my feet I looked around smelling blood but couldn't see anything.
A groan from Kelly drew me to her again and I staggered forward only to be knocked to the ground again, skidding several feet before a scent made my hackles rise. He was fast, I'd give him that but he also knew I was stronger. I lay there for a second to catch my breath and then heaved myself to my paws only to see blood dripping down my face and onto the tarmac.
'I feel like I should say something evil like "We meet again Dweight" but it may just be a little over the top.' My lips curled to expose my teeth and a vicious snarl erupted from my chest. Keegan, Daniel's former Beta casually leaned against the building where I was just a minute ago, naked of course since he was in wolf form mere minutes ago. I wanted to rip him limb from limb.
My vision grew fuzzy but I shook my head to clear it, closing my eyes and unfortunately I wasn't thinking or I'd know that it was enough time for him to change and jump me. Which was exactly what the bastard did. His teeth sank into my fur and I rolled on instinct, taking him with me as we tumbled across the tarmac. His scent was all around me, my teeth snapping every which way until I got a good grip on his paw. My jaws snapped shut and he howled as the bones shattered between my teeth, releasing my neck. I kept rolling, letting go of his paw and stood hacking up the blood in my mouth and growled in warning.
In the next instant, several things happened that I couldn't piece together no matter how much I tried. Kelly had her teeth sunk into his throat, thrashing violently, his keening was so high pitched that I winced and the blood and fur literally flew with her nails digging chunks out of the former Beta. They rolled once and my heart stopped as she was beneath his weight and then she kicked upward until Keegan's body flew through the air and landing with a sickening squelch over a rusted trolley pole and he keened again before releasing his final breath. It was hard to kill a werewolf but he was undoubtedly dead.
Shaken out of my shock, I changed back and staggered toward Kelly where she sat motionless staring at the dead wolf as if he were nothing more than a flower patch. When she looked up at me, her tail wagged and she opened her link.
'Hey.' She sounded almost timid as if she thought I'd yell at her for what she did. I wrapped my arms around her and held her to my chest.
'Don't ever cut me off like that again. When I saw you-' I couldn't finish so I swallowed and tried a different avenue of thought.
'Are you ok?' Her tail beat the ground harder and she pulled back to look at me.
'I think I'll be fine once we get Daniel's mark removed. I really want to share your bed tonight.' I arched my brows at her and her tongue lolled out in a wolfish grin.
'I really love you Kelly.' Her tail stilled and she nuzzled my neck.
'I really love you too.' And at that moment Liam and several other Pack members including Giovanni and several of his men already in wolf form charged into the lot ready to tear Kegan apart but froze when they noted that the job was already done. They all turned surprised looks at me but I laughed and shook my head.
'Don't look at me. My Luna can take care of herself.' With that I asked her not to change back or I'd have a hard time holding back my wolf from ripping into the other males. She chuckled and nuzzled me again.
'Let's go home.' Her whispered request made my stomach tighten.
'Yes, let's go home.' We were about half way toward Liam's car when Giovanni cleared his throat.
'What should we do with Keegan?' He called across the way but I shrugged and waved the hand that wasn't curled in Kelly's fur.
'Use your imagination old friend.'
