I open his bedroom door, walking in with a tray filled with his breakfast. I use my leg to close the door silently.I keep his breakfast on his chiffonier, looking at him as he slept soundly on the bed. He was shirtless and he looked handsomely pale.
I think about ways to wake him up when I felt someone tug me and he next thing I knew was Qahhar being on too of me.
"You're awake, I should have known." I say looking into his eyes. "I don't go back to sleep after fajr prayers". He informs as I gasp. "That's so attractive." I cover my mouth with my hand.
He smiles, shaking his head. "You're early today."
"Isn't that a good thing?" I ask dropping my hand to my side. "Depends on what you're going to spend that time doing."
He says his eyes boring into mine. "I'm contemplating whether to lift that no kiss rule." I admit as he smiles.
"I'm on standby."
"How about we do it for a minute, only a minute." I use my index finger. "Noted." He leans but I stop him. "What if we get consumed by lust and we do something we might regret." I say thinking hardly.
"Its okay if we don't do it, I'm not going to..." I interrupt him by kissing him on the lips. He leans in, kissing me deeper.
I wrap my arm around his neck when I feel Qahhar's body was hot which worried me. "You're hot." I say in between the kisses. "I know." He continues. "No, your temperature."
"Don't worry." He continues kissing me and trailed the kisses to my neck and back to my lips. I feel his hand placed on my hip as he slightly bites my lips. I let out a weak moan when Qahhar pulls away, getting off the bed immediately and walked to the bathroom.
"I'll be out in a minute." He says before closing the door. I sit up, confused before realizing why he did it. He controlled himself.
I use my phone waiting for Qahhar . "Sorry i took long." He walks out wearing a shirt with his sweatpants. "No, its okay." He sits on the bed as I crawl to his side then sat beside him.
He looks at me, holding my hand. "Your body temperature is high." I remind him. "Don't you worry."
"I have to, as your nurse and your girlfriend." He smiles, hanging his head. "Let's go to the hospital." I suggest as he shakes his head.
"No, it's not that serious."
"It is and I get you hate hospitals but this is a necessity. Do it for me, please?" He turns to me. "What will I get on return?"
"Health, nothing but health." I pull away from him, standing up while he chuckles.
"Its not convincing." He crosses his arms. "I'll think about it but in the mean time, you should eat so we could go there early." He nods before I take one of the plates, handing it to him.
******"No, I'll just run a test on my patient." I say to the receptionist, taking my paperclip. "Is he the one that walked in here with you?" She asks in a whisper.
"Yeah, why?" I ask without looking at her. "Isn't he the one that called management because of your replacement?" I snap my head at her.
"This walls have ears." She adds after seeing my expression to serve as a reminder. "You know? Who else knows?"
She chuckles. "Zero your mind that everyone knows because news travels fast amongst bored, tired and burnt out people."
I shake my head, walking to the waiting room where Qahhar sat. I sit beside him as he turns to looks at me. "How was the test?"
"It was good, we leaving now?" He asks and I shake my head. "Sorry, I'll be back now. I need to take care of some things since I'm here already."
"Its okay, you should go then." I nod, standing up and walking away. I head to the nurses quarters.
"Hey." I see Jaruma, sitting down on the chair. I walk to my locker, unlocking it. "Hey, how's you?" I ask keeping some papers.
"I'm good, just tired. Finished my rounds." She lets out a heavy sigh before she lied down.
"That's great." I shut the locker, looking at her. "No, it isn't. I am bored now! I have nothing to do and going back home would be useless." She groans.
I laugh, shaking my head. "I can't believe you're complaining when you can enjoy." I walk to the door, opening it. "I know you understand what I'm saying? You're just trying to make me feel bad."
I step out of the room, laughing. "Yeah, of course." I shake my head, closing the the door.
"Excuse me, may I ask where the ultra sound room is?" A young woman asks me out of the blue. She's caramel skinned and is at least 23 and highest 27.
"Sure, walk down the hall to the right then down......" I trail off, realizing that I suck at discription so its better to show her but Qahhar is waiting for me. I'm too kind.
"You know what? Let me take you there." I smile walking in front of her as she walked beside me.
"So, how far are you?" I turn my head to look at her. "Four weeks." She answers with a weak smile. "You don't want the baby?"
"Its not that I don't like the baby or don't want babies, just not now. I have to achieve some things."
I found what she said pretty ridiculous so I smile, letting out a sigh.
"I'll tell you something because you seem wise, accept it with open arms. Babies are blessings." I say, walking up the stairs together.
"I know they're blessings and I agree but just not now." We stop in front of a door, i hold the door knob.
"What's your name?"
"Aisha."
"Aisha, you should thank god you can have kids. People like us can pray and keep on trying and trust me when I tell you that that is a blessing to your marriage as well. Some spouses walk away from the marriage when a partner is barren, that's what happened to me. So stop complaining."
I open the door walking in, immediately regretting saying it. I got annoyed without me knowing because she's so lucky she could have kids without any complications.
I see Dr Nafeesah behind the computer. "Hey, she wants an ultra sound." I say.
"Okay, what's your number?" Nafeesah asks. "5643219". Aisha says. "Name?"
"Aisha Sambo." She adds while i stand impatiently. "Please, lay down there." Nafeesah points to the other side of the room with the equipments.
"Okay." She walks to the place. "That must be all, right?" I ask, thinking back to Qahhar. "Can you stay here with me?" Aisha asks as I internally groan. I smile, nodding.
"Thank you." Aisha thanks me.
