I place my leg on another chair after rubbing a cream that might help me if it was to start hurting.
"Qahhar!" Adama shouts. "I'm here." I hear her footsteps approaching as she appears with a grin on her face. She sits on my lap, kissing me deeply out of the blue.
She pulls away, her veil resting on her shoulders. "I went to Habiba's and felt weird so I decided to take a test and it appears positive." She squeals, hugging me.
"That's great news, wow." I caress her back. I'm going to be a father.
"I'm so excited." She pulls away from me, taking a deep breath. "I should be careful. We're going to be parents insha Allah."
I smile. "Insha Allah."
Am I going to live that long to see them especially after today?
She looks at me. "Thank you, Qahhar. You supported me and encouraged me even when nobody did. I love you so much." She hugs me tightly.
There are road bumps but after you see your child, it is worth it and more.
I guess this is the beginning.

I knock on Fayadth's door, looking at the well gardened flowers and grass. The door opens as I turn to see his petite wife, smiling at me.
"Please come in, he's taking a shower." She walks in and I follow behind her after closing the door.
She wore her full atampa with her head tie, her hair in a ponytail from the back.
"How are you?" I ask politely. "I'm fine, thanks for asking. I'll be back." She walks away.
Her confidence.
She walks back in with a tray then places it in front of me. "You didn't have to."
She waves her hand. "You have to eat something in my house. Dayf said he's close friend is coming over. How can I deny you anything? So how's your wife?"
I smile. "She's fine, thank you." I like how nice she is but her talking to me would make 'dayf' uncomfortable especially with his extremist ways.
"I saw her profile on Instagram today. I had to follow her, she's so pretty. I hope we get along. I'm a talker, I apologize."
I shake my head. "No, its okay."
"I sometimes get comfortable with people especially when I read their body language and its positive." She scratches her forehead.
"You studied psychology?"
She smiles weakly. "I started but dropped out. I don't want to be reading people, some lies are better hidden."
She shrugs as I nod. "Assalamu alaikum." Fayadth says walking in, glancing at the two of us. "Wa alaikumu salam."
She answers not glancing at him a bit. "It was nice talking to you, please send my greetings to your wife. Afeeya is sending her greetings." She stands up, looking at Fayadth.
Their eyes meeting before she walks away. He looks at her till she disappeared then sighed.
"What brings you to my house?" He asks sitting down on the chair. "To see you and talk to you. Your wife is very welcoming and nice."
He nods. "That....she's good at." He widens his eyes for a second. I chuckle, leaning back. "So what bring you here?"
"My wife's pregnant."
He looks up to me. "What? Congratulations!" He shouts smiling widely, nudging me a bit.
I laugh. "Its funny that I'm going to be a father."
Fayadth takes in a deep breath. "Yeah, really funny. Does your mother know?"
I shake my head, he leans back too. "Well, that's a relief for you." I furrow my brows, wondering how having an absent family is a relief.
"Alhamdulillah that I have one and now I have a wife and her family is mine but, the chaos is not fun. You're should be relived you don't go through that clash."
I sit up, my elbows on my knees. "There's that and I'm used to it especially now. I have a wife and my twins on the way."
I smile. "I'm really happy for you, brother." He stands up, taking a slice of pineapple on the tray. "Yo, nawa ne. Bani. (Yo, that's mine. Give me.)"
Fayadth grins, taking a bite of it. I hiss, turning my head away. "I'll take this home just to spite you." I say and he shrugs.
"The woman that arranged this for you is my wife, besides, im sure your wife does it. Greed and stinginess will kill you there." He takes another one.
I stand up. "And you inhospitality will kill you too. Nonsense. I'm even leaving your house." I pull my T-shirt before walking to the door.
"Yes, leave." Fayadth encourages. "May I talk to your wife?"
"Why?" He crosses his arms. "I want to thank her for her hospitality."
"I'll tell her, don't you worry." I shake my head, opening the door. "No woman likes a man that is too jealous."
I walk out of the house, he stand at the door step. "Tell your wife.....forget it. I'll call her myself."
I stop, his words me turn to look at him. "You have my wife's number?" He shrugs.
"You're joking but delete it. Its not even funny."
"No woman likes a man that is too jealous." I roll my eyes, walking to my car. "I'm going."
"I can see that." I smile, entering my car. I drove out of his premises, heading to my own.
"How long do I have?"
"I'm not sure about a specific date but possibly, five years." The grey haired doctor informs me and I let out a heavy sigh.
"What about the pains I'm going through would it stop?"
"I'm not sure, it might and it might not. If it does, the pain will be worse than before." He clasps his hands, placing it on the table. "Why isn't the medication working on me?"
"It happens, your blood is not compatible with it and it will have effects. Bone pain will not be the only one but you could use some medications for that and stick to your healthy diet. It helps a lot, it might make you feel better or even live longer." He shrugs as I hang my head.
"Okay, thank you....."
I enter the house, closed the door. I check the kitchen and parlors downstairs whether adama's there.
I walk to the mini theatre when i hear her laughter. "So you're here?" I say causing her to sit up. "You startled me, yeah. I'm watching, going to join me?"
I sit beside her. "Of course." She raises the arms rest then leans on my body before kissing her forehead.
"I love you." I remind her. She looks at me. "Love you too." She pecks my lips then continued watching.
Everything is working out.
THE END.
