I keep my bag on the one seater chair before walking to the bed to lie down. "You're getting pretty comfortable." Qahhar points out from the closet.
Qahhar walks into the room. I smile weakly, sitting up. He furrows his brows, "I know that smile."
"What smile?"
"The fake smile, you're a book." He sits close to me and I frown.
"What is it?" He leans forward with his elbows on his knees. looking at me. "You're really invested in this."
"Not really, I'm bored."
I sigh. "After I left yesterday, I went to the hospital to write my name on the register. I went and signed it. I was about to leave when I heard sounds. I followed and it was my ex and my best friend, habiba."
I let out a heavy sigh. "You still have feelings for him."
I look at him like I'm guilty. "Why? He left you and continued living while you're on standstill."
He says bluntly. "He's my first in everything a woman wants including marriage. He left me, not the other way round."
I explain, embarrassed. "Exactly. He hurt you, left you and moved on. You need to move on."
He pays my back as I shrug, unable to look at him . "Its hard."
"Then use me if you need to."
He blurted out, making me snap my head to him. I furrow my eyebrows. " What? I can't. That's just..."
"If it helps." He looks at me straight in the eyes with no hesitation.
I shake my head. "I don't think it's a good id-"
"Adama, i don't mind. I'll say it from experience, there's nothing painful than hanging on to the past and I am mo saint. I've done my crazy things before."
He holds eye contact with me. "At least, let me help you." Qahhar brushes away something on my chin when he leans in, placing a kiss on my lips. I was surprised but I let him. He pulled me closer to him slowly, hugging me tightly. With each kiss, it got more enjoyable. It's getting serious so i pull away slowly.
I look up at him, meeting his eyes. "Did it make you make up your mind?" He asks, my brows furrowed. It kinda did. "Kinda." I chuckle, standing up.
"Exactly, just move on. You'll feel better after that." His phone rings. "I'll have to answer this, excuse me for a moment". He leaves the room.
I contemplate whether I should take his advise when I recall the kiss. What was the kiss for?
I suddenly remember the closet incident. Habiba betrayed me, she acted like she had my back. She'll regret it.
"Let's go out."
Qahhar walks to the door. "Where are you going?"
"We are going somewhere, I'm not going to kidnap you." He left as I took my kit full of medications and items that I need if an emergency arises.
We enter the car that looked like a highlander, I'm not so good with cars. "This car is beautiful." I mutter to myself, looking around. "Its yours then."
I snap my head to him. "What? You can't be serious." He looks at me, pressing a button to start the car. "Yes, I am."
He starts driving. I look at the car again when he parked the car, taking of his seatbelt.
"Switch." He gets down from the car, still confused and possibly in denial. He opens my door. "You're going to be driving us."
He helps me get down from the car. "You sure?" He nods and got in. I got in the car, feeling nervous and overwhelmed.
"Okay, I'm going to start driving." I say, looking at him. He was using his phone. "Go ahead, nurse Adama."
I sigh. "I have to confess that I don't know how to drive an automatic car."
I admit but he didn't even look at me. "You do, manual is more complex. If you know how to drive a manual car, you can drive an automatic car."
He keeps his phone, looking at me now. "Just put it on drive, manage your speed and be ready to hit the brakes at anytime. There are crazy drivers."
I nod, putting the car on drive. I started driving slowly. "I want to be careful."
"Okay, just don't make the other drivers angry especially on the highway."
"Its a huge car, I will hit it if I start speeding."
"Do it however you feel it's right. I'm not going to pressurize you, don't let any one pressurize you either."
I glance at him. "Thank you." I continue driving, some people honking and shouting. I ignored them and after I understood how to operate it, I speed up.
We branched to a skyscraper, actually a huge building. "Shall we?" He got down from the car as I followed him. He walked in wearing his sweats and slides.
By how people were acting and looking, he is known. "Goodmorn...afternoon sir. The appears are on your table ready to be signed."
"Okay, call Alex for me. I need to talk to him." He says and she scurried away. I kept on looking silently, holding the emergency kit. He did everything he had to which took hours before we left.
"Let's branch to a place we can take our food to-go."
"You mean a fast food restaurant?" He nods.
"Okay, can I ask you something? I know it's prying and I understand if you don't want to answer."
"Go ahead."He smiles at me, leaning on the chair. "Is that yours? The building?" I glance at him.
"Yeah." He looks back at the road. "Wow, you must've been overwhelmed when you got it. You're lucky."
I smile. "I was at a point, before I found out I had chronic leukemia."
I felt bad suddenly, why is he trying to ruin the mood?
"I'm sorry but...why did you have to make the mood down?"
I try to uplift the mood but it seems he is in his head.
"Qahhar?" I call him as he turns to look at me calmly. "Are you okay? You seem to be in your head.'
I glance at him. "Yes, I'm okay. I'm just thinking about a few things." He looks away again.
I internally sighed. "We should branch to the farmer's market to buy some fruits for you."
"Okay, go ahead."
I continue driving, I don't want to pry into his life. He has his private life, I have mine. Bottom line, he's my patient. I shouldn't forget that.
