I flatter my eyes open, stretching. I slowly sit up, noticing that I'm in one of the guest rooms. I guess Qahhar was a gentleman and brought me here. I need to head home.

I get out of bed, dragging my feet. Let me summarize what happened. While Qahhar was working, I was watching. I don't know when I fell asleep.

I walk to the door, holding the knob. The meeting! I gasp, opening the door as fast as I can to get my bag and leave. I pause, trying to remuer where I kept my bag yet. Qahhar's room. I run to Qahhar's room, swinging the door open when I see a man standing naked.

I freeze for a second before shutting my eyes and closing the door. I lean on the wall with my back. I sigh, covering my face with my hands.

What have I seen? What made me think I could open the door just like that? It's not my fault. How is it my fault? He should've locked the door. Nah. Its definitely my fault.

The door opened as I saw Qahhar walk out without a shirt. He ties his sweatpants while looking at me.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have barged in. I will knock first next time."

I say but he just continued staring at me. I look at his abs for a split second then back to his face, multiple times.

His lips curl up to a smile. "What did you want to say before?"

He walked back into his room as I followed. "I forgot my bag here and I'm late for a meeting."

He points to my bag placed in the chair. "Thank you." I take it, throwing it on my shoulder.

"How about you take my car?"

"Which one?"

"Whichever".

"No, thanks but I have mine. See you tomorrow." I run out of his room, went down the stairs and got out of the house.

*********

I sneak to our headquarters so could write my name on the register. Not ordinary register, the meeting register.

Zalhat is in charge and I convinced her to stay so I could come and sign it.

"Sorry, I wasted your time." I say to zalhat who was watching something on her phone. "Its okay, just don't do it again."

I sign it as she stood up, pulling her earphones off. "Okay, you owe me that delicious doughnut."

I nod. "Thank you for letting me bribe you."

"Anytime." She winks at me, leaving the room while pant. Better rest up for tomorrow.

I adjust the bag on my shoulder, walking out of our room. I look down the dark hall that is deserted, it happens every night.

Every woman is scared of that place because some say they've seen creepy things plus its not used at night.

I turn walking when I hear noises. I start walking fast as the noises increased.

I stop to listen to it. My eyes widened after i realized. I shook my head about to leave.

I need to find out who it is, the latest news for Qahhar. Going to tell him plus my curiosity needs to be quenched.

I sneak to where the sound came from. I leaned to the door, listening, holding back a giggle.

"You're beautiful." I hears jabir's voice. My eyes widened, surprised and hurt at the same time.

"Be careful." A familiar voice makes my smile disappear. I open the door when I see Jabir and habiba.

They didn't even realize it at first until Jabir saw me. He pulled away from habiba.

Habiba looked at him then at me. She gasps, closing her mouth. I attempt to talk but I was speechless, words unable to come out.

She looked away, adjusting her clothes. I sigh then shook my head. "Unbelievable." I leave, running down the stairs.

"Adama, nurse Adama!" Jabir calls me even though people were around.

I ignored him, getting out of the hospital to the parking lot. "Adama! Wait!"

He shouted while I got in my car. Tears rolling down my cheeks.

I lock the car, sliding my key in the ignition. "Adama, come out. Let's talk."

I shake my head, not looking at him, just driving. "Adama! Don't act like this now!"

I drive away, leaving him there. I sob, driving.

"Come over here."

Jabir's voice rings in my head. I kept on sobbing through the drive, recalling memories of Jabir and habiba's hypocrisy.

I enter the house, dragging my feet. I kept my bag on the floor of my room before looking at myself on the mirror.

My face was all puffed up, my eyes were red.

I sit down, smiling alone. "Adama, why did you come back late?"

Mama came in, rubbing her eyes. "Shifts." I lie.

"I hate this job of yours, god can see my heart." She sits beside me.

"What is wrong with you? You're face is all puffed up."

She cups my cheeks. "No, its okay." I try to pull away. "I'm going to deal with you no matter your age. What happened?"

She warns. "Nothing, just remembering some things."

"Your father, brother or Jabir?"

She asks. "Jabir."

"Why are you reminiscing?"

I turn to look at her. "Mama, i still care for him." My chin quivering.

"I know but what happened?"

I sigh. "I found him with habiba, I caught them together." I say then started sobbing.

She pulled me to her chest. "He tried to explain himself to me but I didn't let him."

I confess.

"You did good." She pats my shoulder. "Don't ever talk to him or look his way again."

Mama supports. "He is a fool. Let him be, I really thought he had sense." She kisses my forehead.

I sniffle. "Thank you mama." I hug her. "Its okay, that's what you father would've said and done."

Another badge of tears roll down. "I miss them, Zayyad's dry jokes and Baba's whack old jokes too."

I sob when mama started sobbing too. "I miss them too but let them rest okay? We should stop crying and sleep. We have work to do tomorrow."

I nod, wiping my tears. "Can we sleep together?" I ask as she stands up.

"We're not bonding that well." She chuckles making me laugh. "Don't overthink, good night."

"Good night." I say before laying down.
