I hold the door for Qahhar to come inside the house. "You should've dropped me off at home."
"Nope, you're eating dinner at my house." He heads to the sitting room as I followed behind him after I closed the door.
"Its late." I look at the clock that was hung on the wall in the sitting room. "Yeah, traffic." He sits down as I stand in front of him.
"Qahhar." I call him making him sigh, looking at me. "Hmm?" I pout. "Its late and we luckily got back earlier than expected."
"So I'm not going home?" I whine.
"Just stay here for today, okay? I'll make the house help help you clean one of the rooms upstairs. So don't worry and come eat."
He stretches his arms, I hold it and sat down. "What will I tell my mom though?"
"Late night rounds." He smiles as I shake my head. "God, you're good. So what do we have?" I rub my hands together.
******"I'm so full!" I grunt when I lean on the chair while I sat on the floor. "Yeah." Qahhar looks at me, smiling. I look back at him, sitting beside him.
"You didn't eat anything, you barely ate." I say but he looks at the ceiling. He seems to be thinking about something and I have nothing else to say when I remembered Khalil's case. That might take his mind off his thoughts.
"Qahhar, you still haven't told me about Khalil." He shakes his head. "I have nothing to say." He lies, crossing his arms.
"No, you said you know more about him more than I know and I practically lived with him. What's the secret?"
I hold his arm but he shakes his head. "I can't go against my word. I am bound by oath." He makes it dramatic.
"Oh really? How about we have fun? Will you tell me then?" I place my hand on his chest.
"That won't work on me." He scoffs before I sit on his lap. He turns to look at me, surprised before he chuckles.
"Is this what you're using against me?" He raises a brow and I nod, placing my hands on his shoulder.
"Yeah, I will get that information one way or the other." I smile when I felt him place his hands on my waist.
"So what is it?" I ask. "Nah, I need more encouragement." He looks at me. "Okay, how about a little kiss?"
I kiss him a bit then pulled away. "That's not fair." He protests. "Withholding the information is not fair."
He pulls me to his lips, kissing me deeply. I try to pull away from him but he was stronger than me. I could feel him pulling me closer to him.
I pull away. "Now, what's the information?" I ask as he hangs his head. "This is not fair, you know that." I let out a mischievous laugh.
"Just tell me first." I repeat before he raised his head. "He's not blind." He says, kissing me but I was too shocked to kiss him back. Qahhar stops to look at me.
"What's wrong?" He asks and I scoff. "How did he do it? I gave him the pills that helped his eyesight so he was misusing the drugs then. Are you sure?" I ask him as he nods.
I stand up, Qahhar letting out a sigh. "The other one is faking to be blind and the other is cheating on him."
Qahhar furrows his brows. "His wife is cheating on him?" I look at him. "Yeah, anyways, that's their problem." I sit beside Qahhar, looking at each other.
I realize my life revolves around Qahhar, my happiness and strength is him and I don't think I am ready to lose him.
"I love you." I spurt out as he places his hand on my jaw, covering quarter of my face including under my ear. "I love you too, Adama. May I confess something to you?"
"Yes, of course."
"I know it's been a week since we started this relationship but I want you as my wife. From the moment we met, to this day. I would love for you to be my wife, I would be honored." He says holding my hand in his.
"But your family? They don't even know me and I'm a divorcée that can't bear children." I remind him, furrowing my brows.
"I don't care whether they accept it or not. They are not here to take care of me, you are so they don't have any right to interfere in my life."
I felt my eyes sting. "No, what about children? I can't bear children." Tears roll down my cheeks before I closed my eyes. "Hey." He calls me as I flutter my eyes open.
"If we can do something, fine but if we can't, it's enough for me to be with you. I never thought I would live this long let alone talk of having a wife like you. I am contented."
I start sobbing when he pulls me in for a hug. "I'm not going to force you to marry me, it's your choice. Take your time."
I sniffle, shaking my head. "No, I will marry you. Without a doubt." I hug him back tightly, sobbing.
He pulls away, wiping my tears. "Its okay, don't cry." He continues wiping my tears.
"I can't, sorry." I apologize causing him to smile widely.
******I lay on the bed, looking at my ring while thinking about how my mom would react if I told her about me getting married.
I smile, rubbing my forehead. "This is crazy." I mutter to myself, lying on my back. I close my eyes, hoping to fall asleep.
