All screens returned to normal, and the situation just got more intense for them. Work had to be done, and whoever this person was had to be tracked down as fast as possible.
Hours has past for the Avengers, hours of trying to find a lead that wasn't just dead air or a wild goose chase. "When we're doing all of this, who is going to take care of (Y/N)?" Clint asked. That was a very good question for him to ask, which of course got no answer for a while. Good thing Thor stepped in with a solution, "Loki can show her around the tower and keep her company. They seem to already be close, so it shouldn't be a problem for him." It was quickly settled as their worries about this situation topped whatever else they were all feeling at the moment.
Since it was Thor's idea, he was the one to go and tell Loki about the position he signed him up for. To his surprise, he didn't really object to it at all. It was strange, but helpful nonetheless. (Y/N) finally arrived at the tower, taking the elevator up to the main living room to find only Loki there with a book. "Hello again, Loki. Where are the others?" "I have been instructed to show you to your room and around the tower as the others are busy trying to track down the person. Is that alright with you?" (Y/N) smiled and nodded. "You're company is the best one I can get here, so I am very happy to have you be my guide," She smiled at him. With an offer of his arm and the acceptance of it, the tour has officially begun for them, as well as more time to talk.
"I saw you reading a book, may I ask what book you were reading?" "I'm sure you've heard of it, Crimson Peak. One of the many books in the tower's library, but not the best of course. Though I do like the combination of suspense, drama, and gothic Victorian atmosphere since you Midgardians have a way with those kinds of writings," He explained. She agreed, "That is one of the more popular genres among us. I would have a feeling you would like some of those elements, just wasn't expecting to be that book. I have read some of it, but I just couldn't really...get with it, if you know what I mean." He nodded with a small smile, enjoying this moment. They both made it to the elevator, walking inside and about to press a button. "Hello, Ms. (L/N = Last Name)," a voice said. (Y/N) jumped a bit, confused.
"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Jarvis, a virtual artificial intelligence. I'm here to assist you in the best way I can," The robotic voice stated. This was amazing to (Y/N), never seeing this level of AI to a point where it can control a whole building that wasn't just lights and locking doors. "Well, hello there Jarvis." "The 5th floor, please Jarvis," Loki asked and the doors closed on instant to (Y/N) smiling face. Out of the corner of his eye, he admired it as the elevator went to their floor. "So we can go anywhere in the tower?" Loki shook his head, "I believe we've both been limited to our floor and the main living room. The tin man thinks of me as some child who can't be trusted around his precious objects." "Well, you really can't blame him. With the title God of Mischief, you tend to be only a bit cautious even with such little power as of now." He looked at her confused and she simply pointed out his metal bracelet with a green light to it. "Right," He sighed as he slide down his sleeve to hide it once more. (Y/N) could sense the aura coming off of him, so some quick thinking was required here. "He's simply scared of something he can't comprehend, which for him is a bigger then most of his common issues. Seeing someone with much more intelligence and elegance can make us Midgardians resort to the worst, of course," She looked to him, getting his response in a low chuckle. "Flattery will get you no where, (Y/N)"
The room was an average size, and already having your stuff organized and packed away like she was meant to be there. "All of my essentials are here. They really don't miss the mark with anything," (Y/N) laughed to herself. "You said there was a library here?" "Yes, it's on this floor. No one else uses it, so it is very peaceful there. Would you...like to join me for tea and a book in there later?" He may seem calm asking her this, but inside he was waiting to be rejected and pushed away just for her to wait for the others. "I...I would love that," Those 4 words raised his spirit and heated up his cheeks a bit as well. "I haven't had much time to read like I use to, so this would be the perfect opportunity to get back into my habit," She explained. Looking over at him, she smirked a bit, "That shade of pink dusting your cheeks are ravishing by the way"
Since they were both were limited to only two floors, he only showed her the library and passed by his room before going back to the main living room. They sat down on the couch with a small amount of books in hand, deciding to read to pass the time together, but he noticed a sour expression in her face. "Is something wrong, (Y/N)?" She sat there for a while until speaking up. "I'm sorry," she said. "For the moment at the hospital. It was out of place for me to speak like that when we aren't that close yet." Silence weighed down on them both. She put her head down to avoid looking at him, only to hear his voice once more. "How am I feeling? Well," He started and she looked back at him. "I am feeling content. Better then I was since now I have made friends with the most tolerant Midgardian I have met." This was a surprise to (Y/N), and to anyone else if they could hear him, but she put on a big smile. "It is an honor, prince of Asgard~"
Time passed with them both reading in comfortable silence, leaning up against one another with books in hand. "Loki?" (Y/N) asked. "Yes (Y/N)?" "With the little amount you have left, can you show me some of your magic?" She closed her book slightly. "Of course I can," a whisper in the back of her head said. A shiver went up her back hearing that, confused as hell. With one look at Loki, she grew that smile once more, "Telepathy? That's so awesome! What else can you do?" Setting his book to the side, he thought for a moment. He pointed to her left and when she looked over it was another Loki, "I can make illusions of myself, but since I have most of my powers stripped from me this is one is the weakest I can produce" It quickly faded away after that, but she still clapped for it. "I can also," He put both hands in her hair, combing through it to make something completely new.
She quickly grabbed her phone to look in it, amazed at how beautiful it looked. "Is this an illusion as well?" "No, this is real. I can also undo it as well," He answered as he undid his creation, having her hair back to normal. She put her phone down and looked at him, they both were stuck looking into each others eyes once more and couldn't look away. "Your eyes are filled with secrets and mysteries, (Y/N). I can't even get inside your head like the regular Midgardian...." He whispered, astonished. She stayed quiet and put her hands on his both sides of his face, "You do know that you are loved Loki, right?" Why was she saying this to him? "I'm not trying to fool you, or lie to you, or manipulate you in anyway. I mean it when I say that you are loved by others, and deserve it so much more then you think. If you don't feel like loving yourself at any moment...then let me love you." She meant this, straight to her core and he now knew it.
After a moment of thinking, her eyes widened in shock. "I did it again....I'm so sorry, I-" She sighed, looking away and taking her hands off his face. He stopped her, putting them back and pulling her a bit closer to him. "(Y/N)," He said. "You can't hide a feeling that is that passionate towards me. We both know that" His hands went to her lower back as he kept talking. "You are so beautiful, fascinating, mysterious, and simply perfect to be around. If you really feel this way, then say it to me," He whispered, getting even closer to her.
"Shit," a voice said from across the room. The Avengers came back at the 'right' time, seeing the pose they were in and Tony deciding to comment with only one word. Of course, this lead to Tony starting to tease them and (Y/N) being a bit embarrassed that they saw any of that. With a few more playful jabs, she left to go back to her room with her books, but before leaving she waved to Loki with a smile. Receiving one in return as she walked out.
