Better Than You (Loki x Reader)

       The team didn't see or hear anything about what they wanted to know, so of course they kept bugging Loki about it. He didn't budge, simply stating that it was something personal to them both and this just made them trust the both of them even less. Especially with Thor, wanting to be there for his brother more, but still felt that there was so little trust for the both of them with her slowly befriending Loki. When Loki returned to his room, he took out the limiter from his pocket and smiled at it, "Thank you , dove"

       The next day rolled around, and he on his way to grab some books to give to (Y/N), but was stopped by Jarvis' voice. "I'm sorry Mr. Laufeyson, but Tony has prohibited any more visits from you without anyone else accompanying you," This made him furious. He teleported to the lab where Tony and Steve were talking, but stopped hearing something else. "Tony, she's a kid. She needs something to eat, we aren't starving her!" "A kid who tried to make us her little puppets. She wasn't even eating much of the food we did give her, so Fury gave the order to not give her anymore until she starts talking." (Y/N) wasn't eating, for how long? All the anger he felt was filled with more, but mixed with worry for her now. "Of course, I have to fix this," He thought to himself. Without having them hear him, he teleported to the cell and opened it quickly.

      (Y/N) didn't seem fazed that much since last time, only smiled at him. "You haven't been eating?" He asked, getting on one knee in front of her as she sat on the floor. Her smile diminished for a quick second, then turned sad, "I don't talk, so I don't get food. I only talk to you, and you know what they keep asking me. Neither of us can tell them." That was on his mind 24/7, how could he not know that already. Without another word, he picked up her bridal style and they both teleported to his room. "Loki," (Y/N) started. "Why are we in your room?" "Because I will no longer have you waste away in that cell made for a beast twice your size." Her heart warmed up at that tone. He got closer to her, holding her face in his hands, "You've done unbelievable things for me, wanting to be near me even with knowing what I am." "I would give you the fucking world. No matter what happens to me," She smiled at him, slight tears in her eyes. He pulled her into a deep kiss, having his arms around her waist and her arms wrapped around his neck with her hands going through his hair. 

     Pulling away, they both smiled and laughed while holding each other close them. "My dove," He kissed her again. "I'm never leaving your side," (Y/N) said as he picked her up to set her on the bed. Once she was comfortable, given some of his clothes to change into, he teleported out and back with some food for the both of them. They both ate together in bed, talking with each other about many different things. Some were personal and others were simply fun to see his reaction to, it was a good break for the both of them to simple just be with each other without that many distractions. He even brought up the books he was planning to give to her, reading them together in peace. That was until, there was loud banging on the door, "Brother!" (Y/N) slightly jumped from the yelling that obviously belonged to Thor. Loki put (Y/N) head on his chest, covering her other ear so that all she could hear was his heartbeat. 

     The rest was muffled sounds for her, seeing the some of them yelling at Loki and sensing his calm but smart remarks right back to them. Some words were clear to her, like "back in cell" and "criminal". Even Natasha tried to grab my arm, but Loki quickly pulled out a dagger to cut her a bit on the hand. "If any of you lay a hand on her, you will feel my rage," His eyes darkened while saying that. Hearing him say that reminded you of the old days, this was the Loki you fell in love with and you were proud to have him back again. After a while of talking, the team left with defeated faces on and Loki uncovered her ears, "What happened? Are they not taking me back?" "The man out of time convinced them to let you stay with me. If anything does happen, then the responsibility will be on myself only." 

      (Y/N) nodded slowly to that, frowning a bit. Now instead of a caged animal, they were treating her like a child who needed to be taken care of. He kissed her forehead to stop her train of thought, "They are simply frightened at the sight of someone smarter than themselves~" She chuckled, cuddling up to him.
