JH: I should've thanked you in person but I forgot so thank you
Alec: Um... What for?
JH: That demon you saved me from... It was going to get my arm and you injured it enough for it to back away
Alec: Oh uh it was nothing. We're shadowhunters... We fight demons that's all
JH: I still needed to thank you
Alec: Um you're welcome?
JH: Okay. How come you aren't asleep yet?
Alec: I couldn't sleep. Why are you awake?
JH: I didn't thank you and it was bugging me
Alec: Well you've thanked me now... You should sleep
JH: Yeah
Alec: Good night
JH: No Alec wait
Alec: I'm still here
JH: You're my first friend. Izzy as well but you're... I don't know how to explain it
Alec: You're my first friend as well.. Izzy's my sister and the others are more friends with Izzy anyway
JH: I always thought that caring for someone or have someone care about you was a weakness
Alec: Um
JH: I'm just saying that because you've made me disagree with myself. Caring for someone is not a weakness. If you didn't care for me, that demon probably would've broken my arm.
Alec: Why are you telling me all this? You've already said thanks
JH: Look, I'm awful at talking about feelings
Alec: Me too
JH: We have a lot in common.. In small ways that may not be obvious... I mean we're both awkward if we have to explain how we feel
Alec: Yes?
JH: Okay, I think I'm just stalling now
Alec: What?
JH: I can't keep this up much longer
Alec: Just spit it out for Raziel's sake will you?
JH: I love how straightforward you are... You hide behind nothing and that's a brave thing to do... I wish I could do it..
Alec: Jace... Just get to it...
JH: Okay, okay I want to be parabatai with you
JH: Alec?
JH: Did I make it awkward
JH: Oh no
JH: Alec???
Alec: No it's fine... But why me?
JH: That's literally what I've been stuttering out for like the last ten minutes
Alec: This isn't a cruel joke?
JH: Why the hell would it be?
Alec: Because... Well.. I'm not anyone special and you're talented, you can fight so much better than me, so why me?
JH: I'm not a good fighter, Alec, I'm just restless because I never knew how to like someone before. And now I like you and you remind me not be restless.
Alec: You're not joking?
JH: For Raziel's sake I'm not
JH: If it's a no, just say it, but please don't keep interrogating me
Alec: No no I want to be parabatai as well
JH: Really?
Alec: Yes... I've been wanting to for a while
JH: We can tell Robert and Maryse tomorrow?
Alec: That works
JH: Yeah?
Alec: Yep.. I've always wanted to have a parabatai
JH: I hated the idea of one until I got to know you... You're changing me for the better...
Alec: What parabatais are for, right?
JH: Got that right :)
