POV: MICHE ZACHARIAS.
Raising the targets, I let out a tired huff as the last one was pulled up to the sky. Wiping the sweat off my forehead, I sigh. The rope smells musty. The air smells like wet grass and rotting wood.
"Hange, explain to me what Levi has planned again," I ask the Titan enthusiast, standing not too far from me as she dusts the dirt off her hands from setting up the targets. "Happily, Miche!"
Tugging at my arm, Hange readjusts my point of view. Standing back, I could see what was set up more clearly.
Fake Titan targets scattered around the base through a sparse section of trees, each of them at various heights, clusters, and angles. Just like the targets they used in the Cadet Corps, the Scout Regiment keeps our own targets for training to keep our efficiency on the battlefield sharp.
Unlike the time we spent at the base between Wall Rose and Maria, we didn't need to worry about actual Titans killing any of the soldiers if they wanted target practice. Although Shoyo and Tobio had already managed on their own, it doesn't guarantee their safety. Even the most skilled soldiers can be taken out by a single Titan.
As for the other four Shifted who didn't have a drop of experience other than a brief week of getting used to moving around with basic maneuvering techniques, and a sole encounter with a Titan in the distance, it was safe to say that doing this training would help them greatly.
"Put it simply, it's a race! However, because Levi is so dedicated to spicing things up with his dedicated students, we'll each be tailing them individually. While they take out as many Titans as they can before the hourglass runs out, we chase them down. They're out of the game if we touch them with our dull blades. Simple, right?" Hange explained.
I nodded, curious to see how this would play out. Each one of the soldiers helping with training are vastly more experienced than the Shifted, though I could say we've managed to survive situations worse than having someone tail us while we were slaughtering Titans. As I thought it over a little bit, I came to a realization.
"Hange, there are five of us, and six of them. Wait, is-"
A mischievous glint appeared in her eyes. I had almost shuddered.
"You guessed it," She says. I almost felt bad at the thought.
"Well, who's going to be the lucky pair?"
"Tetsurou and Kotarou."

POV: KOTAROU BOKUTO.
Stretching my arms out, ODM gear on and a stomach filled with nothing but water, the six of us walk outside the base to see big, wooden, silhouettes of Titans throughout the forest surrounding the castle.
When I woke up this morning, I expected to be greeted by sunny skies. -Turns out, the clouds instead wanted to take center stage. I shrugged it off, got ready, and headed to the empty Mess Hall for food.
