POV: SHOYO HINATA.

"So, you two brats wanna learn how to kill those Titan bastards?"

Captain Levi looked us straight in the eyes, expecting an answer.

To me, the Titans were absolutely terrifying. Just when I thought making Kageyama mad was the most terrifying thing on earth, we were thrown into a world where giants eat humans for breakfast. And lunch. And dinner. They literally just eat humans. What on earth is scarier than that?

But, I gave it some thought. Sure, they were the worst things on earth, and we saw many people get eaten by them. But we also saw people fight and win. I saw them. The way the soldiers flew gracefully through the air, killing them off like total badasses. If I could, I wanted to do that. And here we were, being offered by who Commander Smith referred to as 'Humanity's Strongest Soldier' to be taught how to kill them.

We were being given a fighting chance.

If one thing is for sure, I don't want to die here. And I don't want to sit here until we find a way home. If it meant that killing those giant monsters would be the way we could survive in the world that we were in now, I'd take that chance. I still don't know if this is some crazy nightmare. If I died here, maybe I would wake up in my room, and go to school the next day. But death doesn't sound like an option. I saw those soldiers die. The absolute pain they went through. I also don't want to live with who these people claim to be the last of humanity. They don't even know what phones are. Where would we even go? Would we be in an orphanage? On the streets? What about our family? Friends? Volleyball Team? What about them?

It was either fight our way for a chance to go home or settle with whatever life we had here. And to me, settling didn't sound like living.

I took a deep breath.

"Yes, sir!" I shouted. So did Kageyama. All it took was for one glance in his direction to see the look on his face. From what I could tell, he had the same thoughts as I did. So I straightened my back, raised my chin high, and puffed up my chest.

Instead, Captain Levi turned around to Commander Erwin and began whispering. Soon enough, Captain Hange joined in, then Captain Miche. Their conversation began dragging on, and I was starting to get a little dejected.

If only I had learned how to read lips with Koji back in middle school...

POV: LEVI ACKERMAN.

"Yes, sir!" Shoyo and Kageyama shouted out, determination painted on their faces. It seemed that a single exposure to the terrors of this world was enough to fire these two up. But it didn't matter how passionate a person was, willpower alone isn't going to keep you from getting eaten.

I knew that very well.

But after seeing that moving picture- it was almost like looking at something happening in real life, but compressed onto a small frame. Like rewatching a memory play out before your eyes. -I saw potential. It wasn't every day you would find people with that physical ability. But in that short painting of what they called 'Volleyball,' it was full of people with incredible physicality. It was amazing seeing Tobio and Shoyo painted in extreme detail, their every move captured in perfect timing. It was hard to believe that it was real. But considering how Erwin used it to take a picture of a torch the other day, it was most likely real.
