"Erwin, Erwin- holy shit! You're not gonna believe me. Are you listening? Good! Alright! So, I was..."
Though it wasn't uncommon for an excited Hange to burst through Erwin's door once in a while, Erwin was, at the moment, in an important meeting with Miche about the Scout's current state of affairs. Whether or not they should continue with another expedition, or stay behind and focus their resources on The Shifted. If they chose the latter, it would mean putting a pause on Titan research, and putting all their eggs in one basket. It was still a risk to put everything on the shoulders of six boys, whether that be research on outerwall information, or knowledge in general. No matter how much evidence they seemed to have, Erwin found himself not seeing how things added up.
If these boys were simply from outside the walls, then how do they not know of the existence of Titans at all? Has history decided to erase them? If so, then why are they coming from outside the walls? And it's not like they appeared out of thin air, it would've been impossible for them to have appeared out of nowhere in a field like that. Maybe they could've- but it would take Erwin a lot of convincing and substantial evidence. Is it some divine power? An unexplained anomaly?
Regardless, Erwin had his theories. And he couldn't shake off the one he's never written down, but one he's had in the back of his mind ever since the Second Shift had happened.
This has something to do with the Titans.
It seemed that Erwin would have more test subjects to prove that theory.
"...and just before we arrived at the lake to set up the generator, we encountered... Six more, sir."
Erwin snapped out of his thought-induced trance. "Six more what, Hange?"
"Shifted."
Erwin and Miche shared a single glance before shooting out of their seats and following the frantic researcher. Just halfway down the staircase, Erwin paused.
"What's wrong?" Miche asked, concerned.
"We're in Wall Rose."
This is where Hange's smile turns into a crazed grin. "Exactly."

TWO HOURS AGO.
With a single flash of light, Kei went from walking home, to lying down next to a tree. Too dizzy to understand what was happening, he tried to take in his surroundings.
A forest, a lake nearby. A small waterfall from a cliff, Yamaguchi passed out on a tree next to him. Two people he vaguely recognizes as Seijoh players lying in the grass (suspiciously still), and what looked like two boys (with blond and grey hair respectively) around his age lying in a bush. Both of which in a very uncomfortable position.
What.
Suddenly realizing the situation he was in, Kei sat up, and scrambled for Yamaguchi, and for one of the very few times in his life, he panicked. Kneeling down and grabbing his friend's shoulders, Kei shook him desperately.
"Yamaguchi, wake up wake up wake up what the fuck fuck fuck-"
As if he had been woken from a nap, Yamaguchi opened his eyes and rubbed them, yawning and streching. "Whassup 'suki..."
Yamaguchi blinked once, then twice. "Weren't we just-"
"I know!"
The two looked around, truly absorbing their surroundings. Their eyes landed on the two Seijoh players, who Kei still couldn't identify. The two of them laid side by side, concerningly still.
