POV: SHOYO HINATA.
IF you were to ask me when it began, I think it all started after the practice game against Nekoma.
We had lost most of the sets, so I felt fired up and wanted to practice. Naturally, Kageyama did too. We never even changed out of our jerseys, we went straight to doing the quicks.
I mean, he did start the fight - but it wasn't my fault I was messing up the spikes. For all I know, he could have been messing up the sets! Either way, our timing was off and that made Kageyama turn into the worst kind of Kageyama. Pissyama, a nickname everyone on the team calls him. But don't tell him I said that.
Yachi ended up calling in Tanaka-senpai to break up the fight, but we hadn't exactly forgiven each other. But that's just the way it was when it came to Kageyama and me, we never really did like each other anyway. We had one thing between us, and that was volleyball. Despite our differences, we still trained with each other every day, met up after school every day, so naturally we still walked home together.
Along the way, I took out my backpack to look at something I had brought with me. I had found a nice necklace to give to my sister Natsu in Tokyo while on a jog with Kenma, and I was excited to show her it.
We were about to part at the usual intersection where our neighbourhoods met... And then it happened.
A bright light flashed before my eyes and the next thing I knew, I was in the middle of a vast meadow. It was sunny, and there was a soft breeze brushing past the grass that went up to my ankles.
The necklace I was holding a moment ago was no longer in my hands. In fact, it was nowhere to be found.
It's... Daytime? But it was nighttime just a second ago! Where is the road? And where's my bike?
Kageyama was resting against a tree not too far from me, tightly holding onto his bag. I ran over to check on him, and he almost punched me in the face while he stood up.
"Where are we?" I asked him, but because he's Kageyama, he said "Do I look like I know where we are, dumbass?"
He was right. Kageyama was simply too dumb to know about anything important other than volleyball anyway.
Looking around, I decided to at least try and take in our surroundings. A valley of slightly rolling hills, luscious grass and sparse trees speckled across them. A bright blue sky making the world feel so much more vibrant, birds dancing across it. I almost felt calm. I almost stopped and appreciated the beautiful scenery. But I had a question on my mind that didn't let me dwell on the world around me so much.
How did we get here?
One moment we're on the road, the next we end up on grassy fields and not a single clue of where we are. If anything I could be dreaming, but Kageyama standing right next to me equally as confused told me otherwise.
